First of all, the staff is SO accommodating! The ground floor has a bar and in ground pool. The beach is feet from the front of the building. Upstairs on the fourth floor is a rooftop bar where they serve free breakfast each morning. Hotel rooms are full apartments and include balcony’s on the oceanfront. The only down side is the appliances are very outdated in the rooms which led to our refrigerator barely keeping things cold. Overall, this is best hotel in Jaco at this price point!

Song of the sea!
The hotel was great! Right on the beach in downtown Jaco! We were in walking distance to all the shopping and restaurants. Look forward to staying there again.

The hotel is a little outdated. The pool and service were really good. Conveniently walking distance from a lot of different things. Breakfast was really good. They had construction on replacing the spiral stairs which was really annoying. Wish they had AC in the living rooms area in the room

Really nice people. Great hotel by the beach. A little pricey for the quality. There was no soap in the bathroom and the towels looked a little old. The breakfast could be improved.

My experience was fine. I liked the view from the restaurant. I feel like the rooms could be better like more towels, shampoo, soap,.... And the security in the room, there was no safe deposit box and no door locker.

Hidden oasis
This was a great place to stay in Jaco. Walking distance to most everything. Great service. Very friendly atmosphere. Could of used a little more light In the bathroom to shave. I definitely will go back.

Very close to the beach. Beautiful view
From the balcony you have a beautiful view of the beach. A pool lacks lighting at night. When the reservation is made should tell the client what kind of breakfast is included.

Bad administration!... hotel ok
First, they changed me off hotel without giving any other options. I just needed to go to other hotel or start looking for a new one and validate who i would get a refund. i thought it was ok. Later on I found out that the place where I was sent was a lot cheaper than the one I reserved through expedia. I made the reservation for 2 queen beds but they gave me a king size bed, when I asked that I needed another bed they gave me a really small extra bed and with very few linens. The water pump was not working and so the water was "on and off" even in the middle of a shower. The also offered "Buffet breakfast" and they did not have that you had to choose between typical and continental and when choosing continental we got charged for an order of eggs which was simply unacceptable but we ahd to pay for it. Finally, even if the room was for 4 people, we were 3 and they insisted in charging me more money for the third person and they were already making more money based on what I paid, plus giving me another room. The staff was really nice but apparently - or at least that is what they said- the manager was the one who did not let them do anything and was insisting on the charges. I asked to talk with him/ her but it was not possible. Quite messy!!!! I would never recommend this place!

At 2pm my sister got a call from the Hotel in which, they told her that they were full occupancy (no rooms availables), although the reservation on that Hotel was confirmed via Expedia online. Fortunately, they offered her to stay (with my parents) at another Hotel which ended up being superior than the original one.

My favorite hotel in Jaco.
My second time staying at Canciones Del Mar. I just love this hotel, beautiful, quiet, lovely pool and gardens. The staff is always ready and willing to serve you in any way. Your free breakfast is cooked to order and the food is always fresh and well prepared. The neighborhood could be better, but I walk up to main business district at least a couple times a day and have never had a problem and I personally feel very safe. The hotel has two young men who maintain security 24 hours a day. You are right on the beach and your morning walks can take you down the unrestricted beach as far as you desire....like I said before, I love this place!

Great stay but...
I have been several times to this hotel and it had improved everytime. This time there was a change in regards to the breakfast included in the fee. Previously it included full breakfast ( eggs, pinto, coffee, fruit) but now it is only coffee, fruit and toast, what a shame. Other than that the stay was great.

Avoid is place, it's better to camp in a tent.
Terrible staff in bar/restaurant that will over charge you for everything regardless of what they tell you when ordering, it will be different on bill. There's a drainage ditch next to the pool area that smells of raw sewage. There's not a secure parking area and people camping on beach next to your car. The smoke from the campers fire drifts into the hotel area so if you have asthma issues it could make things difficult. Room wasn't all that secure as the lock wasn't all that strong. AC in just the bedroom did a great job for the bedroom and sort of cooled the kitchen/living room area. Driveway to hotel is dark and sketchy and I wouldn't want to walk it at night. I don't think I'd have as big a problem with this place if not for dining charges and if the hotel cost half of what I paid, it's no where near worth what I paid. It's a 1 star hotel, masquerading as a 3 star, shame on expedia for not rating this a 1 star hotel.

The people at Jaco beach are frienlly, but it is not a family vacation destination. Public beaches could be cleaner, surf is good, if you into surfing and don't mind the not so neat surrundings then it's a fun place.

Quieter than most locations right on the beach. Two blocks off the main street buss...it lends itself for a more relaxing time. Single traveler friendly!

The hotel is VERY old and very expensive. With the price per night you can totally find a resort all inclusive. It smells bad, the pool is not clean and the staff is 0% professional. I will encourage you to find a better place to have a better time. The beach is not private and it's full if campers. Do not take the destituon to stay the hotel just for its pictures, Obviously the only good work they made was the photo shop.

Clean, quiet, nice staff.
This is no 5-star hotel, but it's a solid 3.5. I found it to be clean and quiet, with occasional exception coming from the Copacabana next door. It's a quick walk into town along a dark but seemingly safe road. Food was good, pool was clean and staff was friendly. Note to families, the Coca next door is an "adult hotel", though it's hard to walk between there and here, so there were no issues. As to price, I suspect that a direct reservation with the front desk may provide a better price than hotels.com. I paid the hotels price this time around.

Our stay was incredible, service was great, breakfast delicious and overall an unforgettable trip. The location is amazing, about 20m from the beach. Security guard available 24 hours and parking is secure.

We arrived a day early and the hotel booked us in right away. We were put into a regular room, We weren't satisfied with our room because the a/c wasn't working properly, so the front desk moved us to another larger room with kitchen and fridge with no extra charge!! The ladies and gentleman were super helpful when we had questions. They recommended a Laundromat, and a pharmacia, and a clinic when we needed it...etc. We stayed for the night we arrived early, the three nights we were booked for, and added 2 extra nights...Our 2 children loved the pool, and being so close to the beach!

The hotel was right on the beach which was nice but our room smelled smoky, the sink was broken and the toilet was broken. They fixed the toilet, sprayed some deodorizer but never fixed the broken sink handle. All in all, it was an okay stay.

Great hotel but big problems finding it
We enjoyed our stay and thought the hotel was great. The staff was friendly and attentive and the location was very good. BEWARE, the phone number and location shown on Hotels.com is not correct. We spent hours trying to find the hotel, as it is nowhere near the mapped location and locals we asked did not know how to find it. Visit the hotel's website before traveling to get the correct phone number and address!

There was no hot water. The roof was leaking and we had bats on the patio. Very loud music from hotel next door. The hotel was ocean front and walking distance to restaurant and pubs but, you had to walk down a very dark street...not very safe. I would not recommend to anyone.

Fine beachside location
We chose this hotel because it was one of the most affordable that was located on the beach. The location was fine, though the area surrounding the hotel was a little seedy. Rooms were spacious , though furnishings were old and a bit run-down. The kitchen and patio areas would make it good for a longer stay, though we were just there for a night. We enjoyed the large pool, and were especially glad to have it when the electricity went off for several hours on a very hot afternoon. Great for walks on the beach!

Good Choice
This hotel is an excellent spot to rest and enjoy the beach. We had a beach front room and the view was one to remember. Recomment this hotel over all the rest since the service is excellent.
