Dear David, thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay at Hotel Pumilio. We always strive to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all our guests, and it's disheartening to learn that we fell short of your expectations in this regard.We truly empathize with your discomfort due to mosquitoes and small bugs, and we want to assure you that we took immediate action to address the issue by providing repellent, installing anti-mosquito devices in your room, and changing your sheets. However, despite our best efforts, we understand that mosquitoes are an unavoidable aspect of the tropical environment here in Costa Rica, particularly when doors are left open with the lights on at night. This will always naturally attract the insects inside and unfortunately, there is not a lot we can do about it. We do have signs in all our doors kindly asking guests to keep their doors closed, exactly to avoid insects from getting inside (and also in an effort to contribute to climate change by avoiding the A/C from being wasted).It's important to mention that the small lizard was actually in your room's garden, not inside the bedroom and part of our charm is actually the fact that guests get to see wild animals such as monkeys, lizards, iguanas, raccoons, etc, in their natural state. We understand some people might not like this, but we will always protect, and never intend to harm any wild animals. Regarding the refund, our records indicate that we indeed took steps to address your concerns promptly by implementing measures to make your stay more comfortable. Please know that your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will continue to explore additional measures to mitigate the presence of mosquitoes and small bugs on our premises. We hope that despite this challenge, you were still able to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of our surroundings. We hope you had a wonderful trip back home, best regards.

Thank you for your review Ido, we are glad you found the space to be good and spacious for 5 people and that you found your room to be super clean. We also clean the balcony every day, but as we explained, raccoons usually come at night and if you leave food outside, or trash, they will take it out and make a little mess.... same with the small bugs or mosquitos that might fly (and sometimes die at the balcony), we are happy to clean the raccoons mess and of course clean any insects that might've landed there, but its something we can't control too much, as we let nature, be nature, this is part of our charm :). We're sorry you had issues with hot water and didn't complaint about it, we could've probably solved them if we would've known. As for the food ordering experience, what happened is that you asked us for an extra extra large pizza (custom made for you), so the price the restaurant gave us was different from what you see on the menu, we will definitely work on communicating this better to avoid confusions in the future, but the actual price you owed for dinner was 68... our staff member ended up assuming the difference. We're glad you liked our stategic and private location in front of the forest, just 5min away from Jacó downtown. Again, thanks for your nice comments and for for staying with us!

Dear Joel, we are very glad you liked everything about our hotel, except the fact that we do not allow prostitutes.... your description is absolutely right, we are a hotel for couples or families, not for partying, and we are pretty explicit about this everywhere. We also told you about this during check in, on your first day. It's unfortunate that you decided to break this rule on your last day and we had to ask her to leave.
