We booked this hotel because of its high rating on trip advisor (4.5 stars), but we were very disappointed in what we got. The hotel internet description said the hotel provided robes and slippers, offered washers and dryers, and a coffee shop/bakery, however none of these things were actually available. When we inquired about using a washer and dryer, we were laughed at by staff. The room was very dirty. The wallpaper was water damaged and peeling off the wall, the window was loose and looked like it was about to fall out of the casing, and the mattress and pillows had a fetid smell. When we requested new pillows staff were sent to our room with clean pillow cases, but the stained and dirty pillows remained.
The concierge was friendly and helpful, but the other desk staff were impolite and rude. The kitchen and wait staff were the best thing about this hotel. They were very friendly and made certain we were happy with our meals. The desk staff could learn from the restaurant.
The hotel is located on a busy road with the rail line across the street and the city metro line running above the rail line. With a window that would not latch the noise was very loud. Additionally the AC did not work really well and it spewed a terrible smell.
This level of fifth and decay goes beyond housekeeping. These issues are management problems.
Overall the rude desk staff was only out done by the filth and terrible smell. I would not recommend this room to others.
