Damp musky rooms

We stayed in the hotel for 2 days and needed 2 interconnecting rooms, firstly one room was not ready, when we got into our room there was a damp smell and also mould on the wall with algae growing. The a/c was not working, when we complained about the smell housekeeping came and sprayed some air freshener. When I complained I was told it would be looked into. Luckily after a few hours there was a fault with the electrics and we had to be moved as we had kids with us i explained hey needed to move also. But I wished to inspect whichever room was being offered, guess what they also smelt, we were finally moved to 2 rooms of which one was fine and the other smelt musky but was better. Upon checkout I explained I was not happy and was offered a £10 discount. Not acceptable that a chain such as this cannot keep a basic standard of cleanliness and offer rooms of these conditions.
