The room was in good condition but I would not stay there again. The pool was broke and the hot tub did not bubble!

This is a historic property. It was quaint, quiet, and clean. We were made to feel very welcome. It was so fun to walk around and see all the homes and amenities in the Chautauqua Institute.

What a surprise we found at the Athenaeum, a grand hotel from the 19th century, on beautiful Lake Chatauqua. On arrival, we found ourselves entering a gated community spread along the lake shore, with wonderful 19th and 20th century summer homes, within walking distance of the hotel. The entry to the hotel opens into a large traditional open lobby where the front desk sits opposite a wide staircase to the second and third floors, alongside a comfortable bar area where one can order food and cocktails. The rooms were clean and comfortable, which served our needs well. The staff were polite and eager to assist us. It was a wonderful experience to stay at the Athenaeum.
