Beautiful, quiet location.

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: Staff, location and restaurant.
A computer error resulted in our reservation not being recognized by the hotel. The staff accommodated us even though the lodge was full. We received an upgrade to a chalet. There was no hesitation on behalf of the staff even though they were offering us accommodation that far exceeded what we had booked. The location is beautiful and quiet but close enough to Jasper to easily travel back and forth to the restaurants and sightseeing there. We had dinner at the lodge one of the evenings and it was fantastic!

Breathtaking Views

We enjoyed our stay. Staff were very polite and helpful. We will definitely come back, and have highly recommended to friends. The view from our room was breathtaking. The wifi was hit and miss.

A quick, but lovely stay.

Posted Nov 3, 2016
Pros: The location is fantastic. I was hesitant about staying outside of Jasper, but the drive to the Overlander is breathtaking- it is where we saw the most wildlife and stopped to take the most landscape photos. The rooms are small, but nice. Our fireplace was a bit finicky, but not a big deal.
Cons: I wish there was a more affordable restaurant option on site, but Hinton is quite close by.

BREAKING: THIS JUST IN, Edmontonian reviews stay

Posted Oct 24, 2016
The bed was a bit uncomfortable in guest room. The heating didn't work well for the first night, however, the receptionist supplied us with a space heater which sufficed. She also made sure to inform us that maintenance would be done if necessary the following morning. The dinner in the lodge is delicious and well prepared. Worth the price.

Thank you for sharing your comments and choosing to stay at the Overlander Mountain Lodge. I sincerely apologize if we did not meet your expectations this time. Our sister property, Jasper East Cabins, will be opening a brand new Brewery and Pub style restaurant in Summer 2017, only 2 minutes from the Overlander. I would love to welcome you back for a more memorable experience as more dining options will be available.

The view was nice but...

Posted Oct 11, 2016
The staff were very friendly and accommodating but out room was highly over priced for what we received as amenities. Our biggest disappointment was the lack of choice for dining. As this lodge is situated in a more remote area, it would have been nice to have more choices for food. We had no choice but to have the expensive buffet breakfast. We couldn't order from a menu. The buffet was pretty limited for choices especially for gluten free choices. The price we paid for a plate for a bowl of fruit was very excessive. Also the food was of poor quality. We had cold, greasy potatoes from the warming trays. The French toast was soggy and cold, sausages were boiled, gray lumps and the cheese tray presented day old dried out slices of cheese. The remaining mornings we drove into Hinton for breakfast. Very disappointed. We chose not to dine in the evening at the Stone peak restaurant. Because of the change of weather and other issues we had to cancel one day of our stay and leave early. We were not refunded any of our room fee. I would probably not recommend this to family and friends.

20 minutes drive from Jasper

Posted Oct 10, 2016
Our stay was short, the facility was great. The beds were very comfortable, bathroom and the room was clean. Unfortunately the fireplace in our room was not working properly, we followed the instructions but still no luck. We did inform the front desk about it the next day. The dinner experience was ok, my wife and I were seated next to a party of 12 which were having a "blast". The romantic dinner atmosphere of it was gone. There were times we couldn't hear ourselves talk and resorted to texting each other. The service was great and our server was very attentive to us all night. The breakfast buffet menu had a good selection of items.

Toasty room

Posted Sep 27, 2016 on Hotels
Room was just fine, aside from being very warm all the time. The gas fireplace pilot light was on all the time, and there did not seem to be a way to turn it off. This meant that the room temperature was quite high even with the windows open at night. Otherwise room was fine.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. Please accept my apology for failing to reach your expectations this time. The gas fireplaces in our rooms do have to keep the pilot light on even when the fireplace is shut off. Our front desks agents would have been happy to assist you and bring you a fan to cool the room down for a more enjoyable stay. We would be happy to welcome you back for a more memorable experience.

Convenient & clean. Greeted by pleasant people

Posted Sep 27, 2016 on Hotels
It was farther out from hot springs & jasper than I thought. Wish all rooms had no tv for quiet. Beautiful view & quiet location. Could have offered free cocktail since there was a power . outage at night for about 8 hrs. Would stay again

Pros: Restaurant food was good. But overpriced
Cons: Rooms were loud and not especially clean
Location: Great location just off the highway
An old tired hotel. Not especially clean. Not well sound proofed. Nice staff. Great restaurant, but overpriced.
