The Worst Experience Ever!

Posted Nov 28, 2016
Pros: Nothing!
Cons: Housekeeping would be nice. Friendlier staff.
Location: Spent the day horseback riding in Banner Elk and shopping in Blowing Rock... Great dinner at Boonedocks in West Jefferson and Mellow Mushroom in Boone
Upon arrival, the room was a bit disappointing (Hair in sink and on countertop.) We registered FOUR guests; there was ONE towel and wash cloth. I requested more towels and was told housekeeping would bring them. Hours later, still no towels; I had to go get them. Hot water was nonexistent after 2 showers. Heater was extremely loud. Breakfast staff was AWFUL; she acted as if we were an inconvenience... we were the only people there the first day. The second day, she took forever, waited on other tables that arrived after us, but at least she was rude to everyone! After being gone the entire day, we came back to an unkempt room! Beds unmade, no clean towels, trashcans still full...

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. We thank you for staying with us. We had a housekeeper out sick which caused the housekeeping issues. We are sorry for that. We do hope you'll return in the future.

Pros: The staff was pleasant. Thats all i have but my review wont submit. Interesting. That says alot!
Cons: Sheets that fit the bed, cleaner bathroom, bathroom window covering and shower curtain tattered. The charge for this room should have been $45-60. Not $100!!!
Location: I was told it was close to Boone. Its a 40 min drive!

Thank you for staying with us, if Boone is sold out we are one of the closer properties to it. I'm sorry you felt it wasn't worth the value. I'll speak to housekeeping on the issues you raise and I do hope you'll come again soon.

Top 3 worst hotel rooms I have been in.

Posted Oct 25, 2016
My wife and I do not complain about things much and have never made a post. We reserved this room a couple months ahead planning a color trip in the mountains. We figured we could not go to bad with a chain hotel like Days Inn. It was a cold fall night that dipped into the low 40's. The smell from the room hit us as soon as we opened the door and drifted into the parking area near our car. The heater in the room worked for about 10 minutes then quit, never to work again the rest of the night. Both beds in the room looked and as though the bedding was a week old. Several pubic hairs were still on the toilet rim. There was dried spilled coffee on the bathroom counter top. It was though someone had stayed in this room for several days and house keeping came in and just pulled the sheets and bedding up, emptied the waste baskets and called it good. Complained about it to the desk, and was told call Expedia and you may get up to 10 % on your next stay. WHAT???? There won't be a next stay !!

beds too hard

Posted Oct 15, 2016
Pros: Location. Close to everything and quite.
Cons: The beds.
Location: Close to W. Jefferson and had a nice Restaurant next door open all day that had great food.
Web site said they supplied hair dryer but there wasn't one. Light over sink in bathroom didn't work. Hard to control water temperature in shower. Housekeeping lady was very nice.

I'm sorry you found things not to your liking. Did you report this to the Front Desk at check in? With you signing it anonymous it's difficult to address the situation, but I do hope you'll come again soon.

Great value

We needed a cheap place to stay at with decent rooms. We booked these for $50/night including breakfast. Can't beat that price! When we arrived, the front desk guy was kind enough to upgrade us to a king bed. The breakfast was pretty good as well.

Older hotel near grocery store and restaurants.

Posted Nov 29, 2015
Location was fine. The room was a smoking room which reeked of smoke. It made us sick. The top sheet they were using for a comforter was dirty. There were 3 worn out flat pillows. Just a bad experience!

I'm not sure about a complaint that a smoking room smells of smoke, I've never been in a smoking room that didn't smell of smoke. As for the other issues I'll speak to housekeeping about them. I"m not sure why a comforter wasn't on the bed. I do hope you'll come again and perhaps next time ask for a non smoking room please.

Never again.

Posted Nov 24, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: Location was optimal as we wanted to be near west Jefferson.
The Days Inn in West Jefferson is not a hotel, it is a motel with doors that open to the outside. We had two double beds for 3 people but the room only had towels for 2 people and the front desk staff could not access 1 more towel for our room. The layout of the restaurant was totally unappealing, more like an elementary school cafeteria. The most disturbing thing was the dirty underwear hanging in our shower that did not belong to anyone in our party. Since we arrived so late the night before, we didn't notice it until the morning. When I informed the front desk the said, "thank you for letting us know". Never again!

We've never claimed to be a hotel, and any picture of the property would show that we are indeed a motel with outside entrances. I'm sorry housekeeping did not do a proper job on your stay, I will speak to them about it. I hope you'll come again.

More attention and resources needed.

Posted Oct 12, 2015
Pros: The staff were very friendly and trying their best. The hotel was clean.
Cons: More maintenance and thought needed. Secure the WIFI. Check the light bulbs. Make the complementary Breakfast worth the wait. Get an ATT tower.
Location: This was a destination wedding wherein the bridal families spent thousands in Jefferson. Jefferson is right off the Blue Sky Parkway.
The hotel original facility is as expected in a rural setting. The neglect was not expected. The vanity light and the one ceiling light in the main room were both burned out. The bathroom GFCI outlet was dead and could not be fixed. Though not the fault of the hotel there was NO ATT cell service. With no ATT service, I would have expected the WIFI to be secure. It was not. The complementary breakfast was not worth the wait. The hotel was clean and the staff tried their best. It is clear that too many corners had been cut by management. This was a bad management decision during the peak Fall Blue Sky Parkway season.

The motel cannot put up an ATT tower due to regulations covering such. I'm sorry you had trouble with your phone connections but ultimately we can't be blamed for a service we don't provide and can't provide by law. As for the continental breakfast we are looking into some other options but have not made a decision on those yet.
