I showed up Saturday evening about 5:00 PM to check in quick, get a shower, and drive to Boone NC for dinner reservations. There were three people ahead of me. One was a woman who was telling the guy behind the desk that the second room he had given at check in her had not been cleaned. He was flustered and on the phone. There were two more parties who had been waiting on the clerk, they too had received rooms that had not been cleaned. I didn't have time to wait and seeing what was going on I had to get a room. I went on Hotels.com and booked a room in Boone. I later called Hotels.com and explained what had happened. They in turn, called the hotel. They explained what I explained to them to the desk clerk. He in turn,called management. Management denied my refund. Sad really.

We did approve a refund for the guest. What happened was the Days Inn inspector was inspecting rooms and took apart beds etc. It was our mistake that housekeeping didn't go behind him and ensure the rooms were ready. We are sorry for the oversight an the problems.
