Comfortable Stay

Posted Feb 11, 2016
This was my 5th or 6th time visiting Jeju, and my first time staying at this hotel and in the Shin-Jeju-si area. Baume was very quiet and peaceful, and I would be more than happy to stay there again. The double-standard room was much more spacious than anticipated, and my wife and I were quite pleased with it. The hotel is essentially on the edge of Shin-jeju's shopping district, or locally known as Jeju's "china town" as this area is most frequented by Chinese tourists. The area is chill, with many restaurants, shops, cafes, etc. Taxis are readily available almost anywhere here, and good bus routes to the Jeju Bus Terminal and other viable locations run alongside or close to the hotel. If you arrive to hotel and are looking for a good place to eat, look no further than the Korean beef grill restaurant right around the corner from the hotel called "GRAM GRAM." My wife and I ate there several times. Delicious, guaranteed. My only small pique with the hotel is that their "do not disturb" sign does not equally translate well. At this hotel, is it translated as "do not wake me up." Thus, I was a little surprised to find that my room had been entered into and cleaned when I returned in the evening having had put on the "do not disturb" sign a few mornings. It's no biggie, but I did have a few personal things out. Also, make sure to put a towel down on the bathroom floor, as it gets very slippery when wet. Overall, it's a great, chill place to stay.

Stylish Hotel in good location

Posted Jan 1, 2016
Pros: The Style
Cons: Cleaning- see above
Location: Lots of restaurants and shops.
The hotel is beautiful. The cleaning staff need to do a better job though. My husband put a sweater on a shelf in the closet. It was really dusty when he took it off the shelf to wear. Also we always check under the bed when we leave to make sure that we have not left a book or sock. It was very dirty under the bed and clearly had not been cleaned in a long time. Everything else was great. Terrific hotel. Hope they resolve this.

Nice hotel with spacious rooms

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Nice spacious rooms, comfortable couches and overall plenty facilities. Downside, they charge 5000 krw per piece of disposable amenities, ie the shampoo, shower gel etc are chargeable. I wasn't expexting a nice boutique hotel to stinge on the small items. It would have been a nice touch to just include them all in since the hotel is not exactly cheap.

Lovely hotel near to lots of eateries

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: 1) Spacious room 2) Cleanliness 3) Large Beds - 2 King
Location: 1) Location is near to airport and therefore no need to be rush 2) Lots of eateries at this area all within walking distance
We rented a car to go to the hotel and there are lots of free parking next to the hotel. The room is very spacious with 2 King size beds, two washing sinks, a bath tub, separate shower area, separate toilet. 7-11 is 2 mins walk from hotel. Domino Pizza and Lotteria are a bit far but within walking distance. It is advisable to rent a car to go to Jungmun area as not all the tourist attraction are next to each other. Places worth visit for the kids are Jeju Glass Castle, Teddy Bear Museum, Chocolate Land but the kids liked the most is Alive Museum (3D Trick Art Museum). The egg tart is nice!

not very comfort

very chic, very clean, but not very comfort. Very few staff, and their English do need to improve. Food is too poor. good hotel but will not choose it again.

Very chic, not so comfy

Posted Jun 2, 2011
My husband and I staid at the Baume Couture for two nights. While the hotel is very close to the airport, it took a while to find a cab driver who knew where it was. Once we finally arrived, we found a very chic hotel with a spacious room, nice bathroom (big tub and bidet), there was a fully stocked bar, and complementary bathrobes and slippers. We were disappointed to learned that the lovely King sized bed was hard as a rock, the shower leaked all over the bathroom and would have kept going into the room if we hadn't noticed (due to a very fancy looking drain that was just too slow). We were also upset to learn that the pool was closed. The surrounding area isn't terrible, we found our way to a few restaurants and the bus station was close. Most tourist attractions are pretty far, the lava tubes were an hour bus ride one way. Over all we really could have had a better experience, especially for the price!

A great hotel off the main strip of downtown Jeju

Posted May 23, 2011
We booked our reservaton within a week out from our weekend getaway to Jeju, and there were only 2 options available: 1. the Ramada (slightly cheaper, north side of the island), and 2. the Baume Couture. We were curious about resorts near the southern end of the island, but we decided to go with the Baume Couture. Just having returned from the trip, we are happy to say that we were very lucky to have stumbled upon this pleasant hotel. Some might approach unfamiliar Korean hotels with great skepticism, but the Baume Couture is nothing to be afraid of. It was extremely clean, the room amenities were very comfortable (bathroom shower separate from bathroom tub; mini bar plentiful with cold drinks), complimentary bottled water (2 per day), continental breakfast included with your stay at the hotel restaurant, and service was world class. Parking is always a concern for us in Korea, but that wasn't an issue here. Although not immediately revealing, valet parking is available. Just park the car in the front hotel parking lot (a little small), give the keys to the front desk, and they'll take care of the rest. The hotel is located just off the end of the main strip, so if you're into the local culture scene, then you're easily within walking distance of that. There are plenty of convenience stores nearby. If you have a rental car, you can drive to the other end of the island within 30-40 minutes. An English GPS navigation system helped us a lot with the driving! Had fun!
