Renovation

This hotel is undergoing a renovation which it securely needs. It was noisy, messy and hard to get around the parking lot. The phones did not work and the breakfast area was the pits. If they can not accommodate guest better, they should close the motel until the reno is finished. I could not wait to get out of the place.

Face lift

Pros: I like the concept of what the hotel would finally become. The size of the space, appliances, cost for the stay and the staff, I would recommend.
Cons: Replacement of the carpet, pain the cabinets, get rid of the offensive odor...resurface the parking lot create more space and bring on a coffee pot!
Location: I'm fully into the nature aspect of the island, thus walking the beach, playing putt-putt, golf, window shopping the local eateries made the trip.
Upon walking into the "suite" I noticed an odor which was not pleasant, however...the "suite" appeared clean, there were no dust bunnies, nor any visual signs of filth. The bedroom and bath and kitchen area seemed clean and comfortable. The appliances were great. Love the coffee and tea selection with coffee maker. The carpet was threadbare in the sitting room and well worn through-out the other areas. Due to the smell I'm reluctant to say the room was clean and in excellent condition. There was renovation taking place, parking space was tight and the parking-lot needed resurfacing. The staff were professional and pleasant.

First room sneaky so bad w had to be moved, second room smelt better but our dog was covered in fleas a short time after being in the room. They are working on the hotel to make improvements but until they are done I would not recommend this place.

I apologize for the issues you experienced. Being a state park, we are limited in treatment of the grounds around as we discussed for pests such as fleas. Our monthly pest control service does monitor our rooms for fleas because we are a pet friendly establishment. Our renovations are in process and should be finishing up towards the end of March so we do hope you will revisit us soon. Have a wonderful holiday!

DON'T! JUST DON'T! You're welcome!

First, we had no idea the hotel was a construction zone & being remodeled. I chose it solely because it had two bedroom suites. I am a wedding planner who brings business to Jekyll Island & was excited to find a spacious hotel that allowed pets. When I arrived, I carried all of my bags up the stairs & neither of my keys worked. My son had to leave what he was doing to come to let me in so I didn't have to drag everything back to the car. The room was OLD & very musty. Everything in it was extremely outdated, cracked, broken, rusty. The remote didn't work & we could only watch one channel. I finally figured out how to reset it myself. NEXT I pulled my sheets back to find dirt & hair. As I am staring at it, a roach is crawling across the side table. The next morning I leave to get breakfast & come back with my hands full & you guessed it, the key didn't work. AGAIN! I leave my food outside on a bench, walk a 1/4 mile to get to the front of the hotel & tell them about everything. I then go on a bike ride & come back and of course, the key doesn't work again! I had it in my back pocket with nothing else, every time. Now I am super frustrated. Now the water won't get hot and he had to take a cold shower. OMG! I still needed one. Now, the house keeper comes in & with a cocky attitude says "I hear yo bed was dirty & you want clean sheets." I said, "Well we have decided to just check out instead." She rudely rolled her eyes and said "Mmmkay" & walked away.

Overall good for the money.

Overall good for the money. Parking in the back was a little strange as it seemed to be in a residential neighborhood. The breakfast time ended at 9 am. Wish it could have been extended to 10.

Close to the beach

This is a great little hotel for the price! It is across the street from beach access and close to the bike trails. We have stayed here multiple times and love it
