The first thing I noticed as soon as I got there was that the hotel smelled like literal garbage. There was a half eaten bowl of oatmeal sitting on the bench outside, which I thought was pretty gross and a terrible first impression. The hotel is in a lone area, and looks creepy. There was construction going on in the lobby and one of the elevators didn’t work so we had to go upstairs on several occasions. Their page says they are a non-smoking hotel, but our bedroom smelled like straight up cigarettes. Another big problem were the noises at night, which creeped me out. It felt like someone was trying to get in our room. I wasn’t able to shower for my whole stay there, because there was no hot water at all and one of the guests I spoke to mentioned having the same issue. The view of NY from our bedroom window was amazing, but even that was tarnished because the windows themselves were really dirty. It seemed like no one had ever cleaned them. We also never got housekeeping for some reason. One cool thing was the refrigerator and stove in the room, but the refrigerator did make a lot of noises. I thought it was cool the hotel had breakfast included, but that ended up being super disappointing. They only offer a couple granola bars, tiny muffins in a plastic bag, and little single bags of oatmeal. Not even worth it to waste your time there, getting a hot dog in Central Park is more filling than what they offered. 10/10 do not recommend.
