Beautiful Hotel transport easy access to any wherePosted Apr 26, 2016
Pros: The professional manner in which things was conducted, from the reception to the dinning rooms & then to the room services. Staff worked hard & well.
Cons: I did not identify anything that requires improving that requires passing on.
Location: The place is walk about accessible with ease, beautiful transit icon should you lose your bearing. Shops & beautiful views & not far from city centre
I was apprehensive as I was alone traveller and a lady. When I realised that some of the top managers of the hotels where ladies, I felt relaxed after a week that I extended my stay by six days more. My stay was put at ease knowing that there is a system of conduct that operates efficiently and I had a great time relaxing and enjoyed my stay. The breakfasts and meals was amazing as I saw so many types of dishes and tested as many as I can. The Room Division Manager was seen around almost every day making sure everything and everyone was happy and pleased. I did not know what exactly her position was until a day before I was living the hotel. She is often seen working at the reception answering calls and assisting people or handling the feeding of large groups of people staying at the hotel especially. It seemed endless task, but I was very impressed, seeing her was one of the reason for my extension as I was sure that things must be under control and professionally handled. A security staff I noticed was very exceptional kind, as he help's struggling guest's park their cars at difficult sports and also helped me find and picked out from a hole my SanDisk adopter for my camera after trying 3 other people who where unable to find it. He would call his Lead Manager to cover for him while he does these odd jobs. The security of the hotel was very well covered and I felt safe.

Pros: Superior Room with small balcony and great view, indoor pool, great breakfast, free parking.
Cons: Parking area, outside pool landscaping needed watering and tending.
Location: The Train! Mt Hertzl, Time Elevator, Friends of Zion, we missed the Bible Lands museum.
Fine place, friendly staff, wish they knew English a bit better.

$220 USD charge for an " Israeli no show"..Posted Mar 31, 2016 on Hotels
After several stays, this is my first negative review. The major one was not resolved to my satisfaction at a cost to me of $220 USD. We arrived in Israel on Wednesday for a one night stay at the JG (original for 2 nights but changed before we left Toronto). Upon arrival, the hotel staff asked us to stay Wed night at the Jerusalem Towers. We paid them prior to the move. No mention was made of any claim that we were a no show Tuesday, the night before! This “claim” was only made after a 6 month back and forth email exchange, when I addressed this matter during my most recent stay at JG. Previously, Hotels.com had advised us to deal directly with the hotel and did not offer the refund. The hotel claimed that I booked a room for Tuesday & Wed. (being the day BEFORE I arrived in ISRAEL! I showed them my flight booking . They did not respond except to show me their internal records & a staff members comments, claiming that I did not show up (utter nonsense). This $220 US charge tainted my view of the hotel (and to some extent Hotels.com) . I now pay directly with Hotels.com. I had other issues which the manager made every effort to resolve, but that will be in another review. PS. I still like the hotel but will also now pay closer attention to the Jerusalem Gate Hotel about 5 minutes away with better parking, shopping and restaurants (in Centre 1 plaza), though I still prefer the JG and will still stay there again.
