This was a very nice place to stay. As an American it’s often difficult to travel in a foreign county but the service at Afrique was top notch. It’s not walking distance to anything which was its only downfall from my point of view but the food was amazing and the staff was very kind to me especially all the young gentleman who helped with my room heat and internet and the little things I had challenges with. It was nice to have your own patio to get fresh air whenever you wanted. It’s close to the East Rand Mall and the Airport. Did I mention the food was amazing and the laundry service - well I’d fly 16,000 km to have this nice lady clean my clothes again! Thank you for a lovely stay.

This hotel is a great place to stay the hotels restaurant had amazing food the staff was polite and accommodating the room was good however, the cleaning could have been better but overall 5/5 loved it would recommend and would definitely stay again

Always great to be back at Afrique, been staying there 3-4 times per year for 10 years plus, all good BUT the TV and WiFi was shocking ! I had to permanently walk to bar area in the hope o would get WiFi to do my work ! I actually left several times to the restaurant 2km away to do my work ! They need to fix this otherwise I will have to book somewhere else !!! First complaint in YEARS !

Very secure location and close to the airport. The flight path is above but it is not too bad. Very nicely decorated properties, and the beds are very comfortable.

The room was very clean & comfortable & a fridge & microwave are available on request. The restaurant isn't open on Sunday evening but the buffet breakfast was extensive & delicious. A great place for an overnighy stay.

Best to have a car as the hotel is someway from the airport but close to East Rand Mall. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant very good and a good breakfast. Can’t fault it. Will definitely go back next time we are in J’burg for a couple of days.

The rooms were very nice and well maintained. The highlight was the restaurant, food was of the highest quality as was the service. Definitely value for money. Stayed in 3 hotels in Johannesburg and this was the best by far.

Really nice staff, very friendly and happy to help. Room very comfortable with good balcony. Very well kep outdoor spaces. Nice bar/ restaurant with good food well priced. One small improvement, more light in the bathroom. Would happily go back.

Everything was amazing about this hotel except for when people were in the hallways. Sound would echo horribly and when your trying to sleep at 1:17 in the morning it can be really annoying.

Location was great as well as safety. The restaurant is absolutely supurb!! will recommend it to anyone - the staff in the restaurant too! However would have been nice to have a hair dryer in the room as all 4* places do and milk with coffee not the creamer

Excellent food but a disappointing experience
Primarily because of favourable reviews of the restaurant, my wife and I came for an overnight stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we fist used the toilet in our room, it had not been flushed from a previous use. What, I wonder, was the likelihood that the toilet had been cleaned if it had not even been flushed? We went for lunch where we were the only table in our section. The main course was served before our starter. When I matter-of-factly, not complainingly reported the incidents to the desk, the reaction was incredulity, not even an apology much less any offer of making good. Our romantic get-away was off to a pretty poor start. On a positive note, the food quality was excellent, the surroundings were pleasant and most of the waiting staff were competent and reasonably attentive. The pool was outdoor and unheated and there was no sign of, nor staff knowledge of the advertised spa, which we had intended to make use of. Good place for an evening meal but a poor place for a weekend retreat.

Good Day. I would just like to clarify some of your statements. The main course was ordered before the starters. If I remember correctly the mains were pasta, and the starters were only ordered when the pasta was cooked and the waiters did inform you of that. Not wanting the pasta dish to spoil and over cook, the only reasonable option was to spend it out before the "starter". No where do we advertise that we have an onsite spa, on our website it very clearly states that we can arrange off site spa treatments. Regarding the toilet, it was only a tissue that was used for dusting / room check that they forgot to flush. The review is taken completely taken out of context and made from a position of ignorance.

Comfortable & convenient. Although the hotel did try to charge us R200 per person just for transfer to the airport rather than R200 per trip. However, on the plus side they did email us in advance to confirm that the restaurant would close at 4pm so we had lunch instead of dinner, which was helpful :)

Quick overnight stay
After a long flight, we were welcomed by the very friendly and helpful staff at the hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a nice dinner with great service at the hotel. Breakfast the following morning was good and well attended by wonderful staff.

Ideal place to rest a few days

The xheckbin was rubbish, dontctginkvthe receptionist knew what she was doing, I proved to here that the room was paid for, she wouldn't have it she said I had to pay again, on check out they had to refund etc due to the room being paid double, was no offered shower or bath, I in packed in the room then checked to see I had a bath with a hand held shower piece, that was rubbish, lastly the wifi is a joke doesn't work in prison block B I was told ha ha, everyone your phone locks you have to log in again

Clean and beautifully decorated
We stayed at a number of different places during our trip and this was probably the best. The room was stylish and clean and the bed was huge. Fantastic restaurant too. Would definitely recommend.

Delightful hotel
I arrived sick as a dog and my poor husband was trying to sort out a communication problem with our hire care company. We would have been lost without the wonderful Chenteen, front desk manager. She allowed me to have an early check in and late check out when she saw how ill I was and she was of so much help sorting out my husband's problems related to collection of our hire car at the end of our 6 weeks in Africa. Chenteen, you are worth your weight in gold! Also praise to Eric & Felix in the dining area - we wish you the very best for your future.

Close to Johannesburg Airport
Great stay if you're looking to be near the airport (it's about 10 minutes away via car). My room was very clean, cozy, and quiet. This was a great option, for a very affordable price. However, please note that the hotel is located about 30-40 minutes away from the "hot spots" of Joburg, and there is not much to do/see in Boksburg, as it is a residential area.
