Not your typical Four Seasons.

Stayed at this property for 2 nights with 2 other people, 2 rooms total. The standard, quality and service does not represent the Four Seasons brand. Rooms are good quality, modern but again not what you expect from the brand. The bathroom amenities are sub par, a local African product line, not L'Occitane and the lack of quality is apparent. The hotel restaurants lack efficiency, and good service. Staff is unresponsive, does not notice the details and lacks elementary hospitality attributes of a 5 star (presumed) hotel. Service at the pool is horrible, waited 20 minutes for bar attendant to arrive, served us drinks in dirty plastic glasses (the plastic part is fine since we are at a pool) but the dirty part is unacceptable, never to be seen again (guess we only were going to have one drink each). Grounds of hotel are nice, clean and security and safety are without complaint. Front desk staff and concierge are very helpful and willing to provide recommendations and suggestions on what to do, where to go and where to eat. Housekeeping service, again, subpar for the Four Seasons Brand (sloppy, amenities not replenished as needed, coffee maker not cleaned, Nespresso pods not replaced, etc.) I guess it is the best hotel in Johannesburg, but it is not Four Seasons standard, so if you stay there, do not expect Four Seasons consistency and hospitality.
