Complex isn’t good feels like place is running into the ground ,WiFi limited 2G for two days four people ,3 TVs but all TVs connected so everyone has to watch same thing plus you have to get out of bed and go to living room to change channel just awful really such a shame wouldn’t stay again

Cool but no value for money
It's more like a one day apartment but if you check in after 7pm, you on your own if something is wrong, like in my case. R 1.000 and that as a special is not worth it. Lights were broken, TV didn't work, and the stock of utilities in the kitchen was irregular. The interior is cool. But that's all what's positive

Terrible stay
2 night stay at Insignia with friends. We could not sit on the couches as they were stained and had a stench. Ottoman was changed upon complaining. Kettle was completely broken and replaced after complaining. Towels were torn and were changed only after the second complaint. Bed linen was torn and not changed, despite complaining to housekeeping. No extra blankets in apartment. General cleanliness and housekeeping is terrible. Will not recommend and will not book again.

Terrible money making scam
Such as place. Mildew in bathrooms. Broken blinds and rails. Missing items from the inventory and no effort from the owners to improve or replace any missing or broken items. The apartment was not ready when I checked in. Not even enough linen to have the beds made up and they have no spare stocks so linen is sent to the laundry and you have to wait for it’s return so they can make up the beds. lots of items missing off the inventory in the apartment and no effort to restock any of it. T&Cs not valid for the apartments they rent but you expected to sign and then on the terms it’s states housekeeping sign has to be placed on door before 12 but when placed at 1145 was told it’s too late and should of been on before 10 contrary to the terms signed at Check-in. No cleaning equipment in apartments to even assist now with limited cutlery and crockery so you end up having to use your hands. Just stay away

Nice comfortable apartment.
Comfortable place, lots of space for two people. Our apartment was a bit dark, but was on the ground floor. Would have been great to have some coffee to use with the French press provided, rather than the instant coffee.

The apartments are very nice but unfortunately the day we arrived we did not have either wi-fi nor running water. The staff said it was an usual event since they were fixing some pipes but we just stayed for one night so I wouldn't know if it was just a one day event or not.

Great apartment building for short stays in Joburg
This is not a hotel! It is a luxury apartment complex with beautiful and spacious apartments. Check in ends at 5pm so make sure to call Insignia if you are arriving after this time, they will leave the keys for you at the gate.

Great Place to stay but management not in touch
I/we have stayed here previously and the stay been fantastic - however on booking for a third visit after I received the confirmation email and credit card debit I noted that there was an error stating that two rooms for 4 adults had been reserved and the money debited off my card - I immediately emailed reservations about this error (within 2/3 minutes according to email records) ; I did not receive a reply. The following day I noted online that still the two debits were reflected - I phoned American Express South Africa and they confirmed the debits were not banked but on hold - I presumed this would be sorted out upon checkout. As again it was a weekend there were no staff on duty and check out was done with the guard at the gate - During this time I contacted the management of the apartments - based in Cape Town and not onsite - had a rude threatening lady to me saying that they were full and would debit me for everything! The place was certainly not full as I could see from empty car parks and no lights on in apartments - it was VERY quiet and also the quietest time of year for Johannesburg (December) as everyone goes away on holiday and hardly any businesses are open. I then opened some email complaints in which management asked me when did I make them aware of the problem of the booking - I sent the emails back showing that I queried it within minutes of the booking - I never received a reply but now notice both the debits have been banked - I am reversing the payments

Stayed in room 001. It's located next to the workers change room or storeroom. The frequency of the workers doesn't allow you open curtains privacy, can't use the outside chairs ( because of workers going up and down per second). Woken up in the morning by noises from the workers. NOT NICE AT ALL. Hotel needs to change/move the workers room

Good but service is a let down
The good: Comfortable location and convenient location. Modern interior, and highly finished. The bad: disappointed with the shower due to low pressure. The unacceptable: received rude service from the receptionist, with a disinterested and shockingly patronizing attitude. Manager, aware of these issues, is yet to respond.

Best aparthotel in the JHB area
This is by far the most modern and well equipped apartment/hotels we have ever stayed in. The 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were just pure value for money. The furniture was great, the bed super comfortable, each room including the lounge had a TV set - big screens too. It was awesome. The wifi was pretty fast and the balcony was a nice size and well furnished. I just loved this apartment. The security guard was super friendly and helpful too. I just love places like this that have high quality everything and are well maintained. Amazing stay

Nice Clean Apartment in Johannasburg
This was a nice cheap affordable apartment in Johannesburg. Very Clean, very comfortable. Great pricing for a two-bedrooms(about $100 US). There was something that agitated me. Check-in was 4pm I believe and we arrived around 4:30 or so but the reception was gone for the day when we arrived. She left the keys with the guard at the gate but there was a bit of back and forth between us and guard. Our uber driver even mentioned the back and forth was unnecessary and said we should complain. If you're going to have the guard giving people key, make sure he has the basic people skills to do so.

Not accommodative in terms of 10am check out. I have stayed pretty much in all the hotels in Sandton and they always give late check out if needed for late flight purposes. Insignia wanted me to pay R700 for an extra hour (ridiculous). After one full bath, water gets cold, had to call the caretaker every single day of my 10 days stay. There's no assistance after 4pm, reception closes. Wifi was good. Rooms clean and good size. Taxi to Sandton city is R100 . You need a car or taxi to get around.

Will definitely book into Insignia again. Great choice of self catering rooms. Very new, exceptionally neat, and top class fittings and furniture. Much better than a hotel (no on site restaurant or room service or concierge) but this place is highly recommended.

Quality accommodation on a budget.
My group was a Sports Team. The priority was proximity to the Sandton Convention Centre. Insignia provided the perfect base for the team. Quality accommodation, generous kitchen facilities for athletes on a strict diet and comfortable living areas. Most of all it was very affordable. The only drawback was that there is no facility to convert rooms from doubles to twins.

Not cleaned well. Many things were broken or broke will I was there. Lots of cosmetic issues and unpleasant issues like the toilet smelling. The gym is ok, but not state of the art per the ad. Cudos though Ben the maintenance man. He did his best to fix things asap. There was and continues to be a lot of things to keep him busy

The booking stipulated a 4pm check in or phone the hotel. I tried phoning about 20 times with no response throuout the day because I was only arriving in the evening. No response! So I had the stress of not knowing if my room would be available when I arrived. Thankfully it was and the guy at the gate was helpful. Nice room but the water pressure was terrible and you have to wait about 5 mins for the hot water to come thru.

Big size apartment, new furnished, daily housekeeping. Including 50mbit wifi, dstv, movie channels, towels etc. no hairdryer. 2 car parking, highly secured, great location, sandton area is good. A compact mall is very close, grocery, restaurants etc are walking distance.. It's an apartment so no room service or no concierge..

Modern, well equipped apartment
Lovely new modern apartment. No cleaning service all weekend. Linen change once a week only. Wardrobe door came off hinges and fell on top of me (poorly finished) and couldn't be sorted until Monday as no staff available at weekends. Generally satisfied with stay, close to Sandton which has great restaurants and shopping. Uber taxi service available so that was hand. The apartment is in a busy block so some nights were noisy. Not wheelchair friendly or suitable for someone who can't carry luggage up steps, there is a lift but you still need to get up some external stairs. Pool is a tiny strip and looked murky. Great kitchen, fully equipped with excellent appliances.

A very comforting stay
Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The place is quiet, relaxing and peaceful. My apartment was very clean and room service was brilliant ie cleaning as they are self catering apartments. The kitchen has all the cutlery/utensils you need so all you need is to buy the food only. Air conditioning amazing. Felt very safe and secure the whole duration of my 18days stay. The neighbourhood also felt very safe. The apartments were a walking distance from the shops/ restaurants/ ATMs, 5mins max to be precise and only 20minutes walk from the beautiful Sandton shopping mall. The walk does not even feel that long to be fair!
