Very Old, Dirty and Uncomfortable HotelPosted Aug 20, 2015
It took two room changes before they found a suitable room. The furniture is cheap, chipped and outdated. The carpet looks permanently dirty. The rooms are noisy and you can hear entire conversations outside your door. The room feels crammed. The AC was set to 30 degrees in the room so I had to cool it down over time. Complementary bottled water was not available as we know it. Eventually, I just took my bags and found alternate accommodation for the night.

The hotel was great, probably one of the greatest around area at a reasonable price. The staff is forever friendly.

It was lovely. I was very tired but the room and comfortable bed made it pleasurable.

oldish hotel but excellent service.Posted Feb 6, 2015
Pros: Service, room, food
Cons: The lifts
Slightly ageing hotel but well kept up and the staff were excellent. The breakfast was outstanding and the food in general was excellent. The room was well kept and spacious. The only problem was the lifts which were erratic. It is very conveniently situated five minutes walk from the Gautrain (but with a complimentary shuttle as well) and to a shopping mall with plenty of places to eat (but don't miss the breakfast in the hotel

Gut und Preiswert neben Einkaufszentrum & bahnPosted Feb 4, 2015
Pros: Bett war sehr bequem und gross
Cons: Hab nichts gemerkt
Location: Einkaufszentrum direkt neben.

Protea Hotel Centurion weekend stayPosted Jan 28, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel is fine and I have stayed there before. It is not the best location next to the big road but good being so close to the Centurion mall. Do something about the elevators. They are really slow. Also internet is "free" until you pass a certain amount of data then you have to pay. They do not inform you about this and all of a sudden internet will just stop working and you have to go to the reception to purchase more. Very annoying since I was working on something online when it went. Breakfast is fine. Rooms are comfortable. Stop mentioning that the rooms have a lake view on check in! There is no lake there anylonger! It has been drained and it is more of a swamp now. Staff are helpful and brought a small fridge to my room. I had already paid through Hotels.com but was still charged for the room when checking in. They fixed it and the charge was reversed. Still an annoyance. The lobby bar area is nice with a nice bar. Room service menu is very limited and the servings are quite small. I will stay again because of the low price but I wouldnt say that it is a hotel that stands out in anyway.
