Honeymoon Hotel

Posted Aug 23, 2017
My husband and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon. We really enjoyed our stay. It is VERY steep so people should be aware of this, however they have a minibus to take you to your room should you need it. The only downfall of this hotel is the restaurant - Sugar Club. They encourage you to book, however they are never more than 30% full, as well as the long wait to be seated when they know you are waiting. It is a table service all inclusive which I had never encountered before. The food is good, however you will never get the same dish twice! Presentation and size is very varied. The menu at dinner is very limited and didn't change often enough for my taste. The lunch menu is better. Overall we had a lovely honeymoon here!!

Beautiful setting

Posted Aug 20, 2017
We stayed here for 7 nights and had a great time. The hotel, though not on the beach, is in a lovely setting with views over the turquoise Caribbean sea. The staff were friendly and helpful - in particular Carleen, one of the most joyful people we've ever met! Our room was lovely and modern, though some fixtures and fittings were a bit tired and I would have preferred firmer pillows as ours were too soft. (A problem with our shower was sorted out very quickly.) We loved our plunge pool, which was very refreshing! The breakfasts were delicious. We didn't go all inclusive as there are lots of good restaurants at Jolly Harbour, a short walk away, which offer more choice. The grounds were nice but a bit untidy in places. There are a lot of uneven steps and steep slopes, so this is definitely not the place for those unsteady on their feel! 0ur room, 10, was thankfully lower down and near everything. There were also lots of cats around, which were a bit of a nuisance for our friend who is allergic to them. We didn't use the gym or spa but I had 4 fantastic yoga lesson with Doret, a brilliant teacher. The manager's cocktail party was great fun, with excellent music! The hotel runs a shuttle to local beach, which was very useful, and the hotel's pools were great, We would stay there again.

Staff, menu and housekeeping/ pool guy .

Posted Aug 8, 2017
The staff was phenomenal and that was the only redeeming quality. The menu was one i could get down the street. Where is the local food ? Thats why i came to the island to experience it. Thats why any tourist comes . The room i stayed in lacked basic care . No one checked that room before putting me to stay in it . The mosquito net around the bed was dirty and didnt look as if it had been washed. Which i discovered after laying down and looking up and seeing it. The curtains going into the patio were dirty and mildewed. I spoke to a manager and housekeeping and they were never changed. The pool i payed for was dirty and because of that i never even dipped a toe into it . The water was dirty and discolored . There was also insects floating in it among other things . Where is the pool boy ? This place looked stellar online but lacked basic things when i got there overall a gross disappointment. Its not cheap to stay at your establishment make it worth every last penny . Tourism is the main industry isnt it ? Also that last property was engulfed in bushes and could have been trimmed down a bit . It always seemed like if i was in the jungle rather than on a resort. I guess grounds keeping has a cut off point on the resort. Sigh i looked forward to this vacation for months. What a waste of time and money . The staff at the front desk and restaurant were exceptional absolutely stellar service.

Piece of Paradise

Loved every moment of my stay. My only advice is to venture out you the other restaurants at the marina. It's less than a 7 minute walk.

Very friendly staff, close to Jolly Beach

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Very very friendly staff. A huge shout out to Cherish’s and Kevin. It’s walkable to Jolly Harbour. The hotel has two restaurants - Sugar Club and Carmichael’s. We had drinks at the pool next to Carmichael’s - was amazing - both the view and drinks. Rooms were clean, timely service and their shuttles to beaches are convenient. Will definitely return back to this hotel!

Great service, nice rooms and beautiful views

Posted Jul 10, 2017
We loved everything. No complaints. The staff were friendly and helpful. The best beach nearby is Valley Church Beach where the Nest is. Dinner wise: We really liked Akropolis, Miracle's, Al Porto and OJ's for local restaurants off the resort. The food on the resort is amazing too. All very good. Carmichaels is a must. Prob. our favorite spot.

Sugar Ridge - Fabulous

Posted Jul 5, 2017
Cons: Trees need cutting back significantly so that you have a real view.
Location: Beautiful beach at Valley Church (The Nest), pre-carnival activities/parties (LOL was great). A must is the swimming with the stingrays.
What a great place to stay. Every aspect was fantastic from the rooms, and facilities to the food (all inclusive is a la carte each breakfast, lunch and dinner - so no boring buffets) and the entertainment but most the staff. With the hotel being only about half full we had the infinity to ourselves a couple of days. Great time to go just out of season - (end June). Love it. We will be back.

Great hotel close to several beaches

Posted Jun 12, 2017
Staff are friendly and helpful. Best for beaches as several are 5 mins away by a free shuttle. Meals are expensive if you're not on the all inclusive plan (eg: 22 USD for a small aubergine dish!) but there's a supermarket within walking distance which is well stocked. Overall a lovely location and very clean.
