Great for family trip and extended stay!

Posted Jan 1, 2016
Clean and nice 2 bedroom suite with living room and kitchen, fit our needs perfectly. Great for family trip or extended stay, good location to visit Joshua Tree National Park. Friendly staff, quiet environment, with a nice hot outdoor Jacuzzi.

Birthday girlfriend get-away

Posted Dec 23, 2015
Pros: Decor, staff, proximity to Joshua Tree State Park
Cons: 12 Cup Coffee maker, non stick pots/pans
Location: Joshua Tree State Park Rocks!
Three friends and I wanted to get away overnight to celebrate my birthday away from the maddening crowds during the Christmas Holidays. One friend suggested Joshua Tree. I had been there camping before but was not up to it this time. A bit chilly at night in my opinion. We decided to book one night. The facility is close proximity to one of the entrance points to Joshua Tree State Park. It was perfect for our needs. We are all gourmet cooks and brought our own food for my birthday feast. I admit, the place could use some updated pots, pans and for goodness sakes, a larger coffee pot. We made what was available work and totally enjoyed our time at the Hotel. I will stay longer than one night next time we visit. And yes, we will return to this establishment. Of course, I'll bring my own cookware and a 4 person appropriate coffee pot to get us all up and hike ready at the same time! Loved it overall!

Belated happy birthday. Had we known about it, we could have thrown in a birthday cake. Seriously about the coffee makers, we had larger ones but we replaced them with the ones currently in the unit per guests' comments the original ones were too big. We kept some though just in case there is a need for them. We try to keep up with replacing our pots and pans, somehow they either disappear or old ones show up. It has been a puzzle. We truly appreciate your comments and look forward to serving your needs on your next visit.

A great, unique place to stay!

Posted Oct 20, 2015 on Hotels
I planned a last minute trip to Joshua Tree and when this hotel came up on my hotels.com search, I just knew this was the winner. Quite a few other hotels in my search were either budget chains, looked run down, did not have the best reviews or were too far from where I wanted to be, but this place was perfect in a lot of ways - and easy to find with the signs that they posted on the streets recently. When the manager checked me in, I felt compelled to say how cool the place looked. It's a unique treasure with lots of personality, great decorations everywhere and located very close to the Oasis Visitor center at the north end of Joshua Tree - and the price really cannot be beat for what you get. The rooms are really more like apartments and include a kitchen, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, tableware, barbecue grill. Everything was very clean and comfortable. On the premises, there is also a pool, a gym (stationary bike, treadmill, weights), a playground for kids, a conference room, and billiards. The manager is a very cool and friendly person. He also recommended a great place to get dinner and there are other amenities very close by as well if needed - post office, gas stations, various restaurant options, bowling, a drive-in theater, a great place to get donuts... If I ever stay in a hotel in Joshua Tree again, I'm looking this place up first! It certainly made my trip all the more memorable.

Nice Play. Bad cooling

Posted Sep 22, 2015 on Hotels
The room was clean and was recently remodled. New appliances. The big downfall is the swamp cooler instead of a air condtioner. The swamp cooler was very noisy making it almost impossible to sleep with it running.

Thank you for your comments. The evaporative (swamp) coolers work very well in the desert, in addition to being environmentally friendly. We also have units with air conditioning. If available, we could have transferred you to one of these units, and made you sleep better. Thank you for your stay.

Incredible Hotel! Unique in the Best Ways!

Posted Sep 21, 2015 on Hotels
My fiancee and I recently embarked on a two week beach/road trip with a stopover in Joshua Tree National Park. My fiancee found this incredible hotel online and I was skeptical at first. Upon arriving (we arrived after sunset), we were greeted by the manager who had a telescope and asked if we wanted to see Saturn! He showed us through his telescope and then gave us a tour of the hotel. Our room included a full kitchen and tons of space (must be 600sq feet plus). We absolutely loved the entire property and would 100% stay there again. I would recommend this to anyone who is stopping over for a night or two and seeing Joshua Tree. It is about 10 minutes from Indian Cove in Joshua Tree as well (which I would absolutely recommend going to see for sunset).

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, and the view of Saturn. Our night sky is very popular to guests. The City of Twentynine Palms is very mindful of light pollution because we want everyone to enjoy the night sky. And of course the sunset is spectacular. Thank you for saying you would recommend us to anyone....

Great for a short or long stay

Posted Sep 9, 2015
Pros: Location, price, staff.
Cons: Perhaps redecorate interior - outside looks great as it is!
Location: A few miles from the northern entrance of Joshua Tree NP.
I stayed here for one night to break up a trip from LA to the Grand Canyon via Joshua Tree NP. It's geared up for longer stays but I was welcomed by a friendly and helpful manager / owner who gave me a tour of the property. The location is great for Joshua Tree NP and is a few blocks from the main highway so nice and quiet. The outside looks great, with the front of the buildings looking like an old frontier / mining town. A nice touch and in keeping with the surrounding desert. The rooms were good - could perhaps benefit from redecoration but nothing to complain about - and having a full kitchen was great. There is coin-op laundry and games room for guests as well.

Exactly What We Needed

Posted Jul 26, 2015
This is a great little place to stay if visiting Joshua Tree NP. Full kitchens with dishes, utensils, and pots and pans furnished, comfy bed, and peaceful, nicely decorated and clean grounds. Each patio even has a gas grill! This was just what we needed for our stay while visiting the National Park

Optimale Lage vs. Aktualität

Posted Jul 23, 2015 on Hotels
