Well, the stage was below our balcony and was extremely loud and kept us awake !!! They gave us the wrong room upon check in and we had to be moved to a lower floor with less of an ocean view which we paid extra for. If you didn’t wake up at 5:00 am to reserve a seat at the pool NO CHAIRS AVAILABLE!!! There was very limited places for lunch !!! I have stayed in Riu in Jamaica, Dominican rupblic and Mexico and haven’t had a complaint. I give this property a 4 out of 10 !!!

The hotel rooms are outdated. The first room we checked into had no water pressure and air conditioner barely worked. We were able to change to a different room but there was a smell of sewer in one of our bathrooms (our room had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms). There are 3 specialty restaurants and 2 buffets, and one of the buffets turns to a steakhouse for dinner. There was a lot of food but it was average and greasy. Staff was nice. The beach is underdeveloped with very old and broken beach chairs. I will not be coming back to Riu Guanacaste.

The road to the park is only 5 miles from the city, but it takes 30 minutes or more. SO beautiful though. In the clouds. Wish we had more time here. We only spent an hour, and we needed several! So beautiful!!
