Not what I expected, such a shame

Well, where to begin?! Firstly I had booked somewhere else but saw all the great reviews this place had and changed my booking to this hotel, which now I regret. To make things simpler I've listed pros and cons of this place: PROS: - Good location to nearby restaurants and beach (HOWEVER, most of the beach nearby is privately owned so you cannot access it and have to walk 15/20 mins to find a bit you're allowed on) - Authentic and very unique decor (HOWEVER there is not lift and we were placed on the top floor which was very awkward as we had a small baby with us) CONS: - We booked a triple room and the room was WAY too small to fit all the beds in it! There was no space to walk around the beds and the bathroom was very very small and cramped - They charged you to use their beach towels (which I feel isn't clear until you're here) so I'd suggest bringing your own - the shower unit was not fitted correctly so every time you had a shower the water went all over the floor - we were given a crib even though we had told them we had our own (the staff would not accept this) and we had to use theirs, their crib collapsed on the second day we were there so couldn't use it anyway - and then charged us for using it for 4 days!!! - staff aren't great at understanding what you want, we asked for a large taxi (due to large suitcases and pram) at the end of our stay but they called a small one who was not impressed and overcharged us for their mistake!

Dear Mister Shumoogam, i will answer point by point to all your remarks regarding the hotel itself ( the city is out of my league ) - i can understand our triple rooms can seem quite small especially when we add a crib. But please read carefully before making a reservation. You have the room size in the room description. it may appear small to you as it may seem quite big for someone else. question of taste. Anyway, room size was specified. - Indeed we charge for beach towels when you ask for it ( 3 € per towel for the full stay , much more cheaper than if you buy one at around 10-12 euros ) of course we don't force you to rent towels. - i am really sorry if the shower unit was not fitted correctly but why haven't you told it at the reception, the repair man would have fixed it right away. - Regarding the crib, i am sorry but i have your reservation right under my eyes, YOU asked for a crib '' crib needed '' as written. We then sent you an email giving you the price for the crib per day. NEVER you mentionned about bringing your own, why do you say such a thing. Of course, our guests can bring their own, and in that case it's free of charge... - regarding Taxi issue, i cannot talk on behalf of the person you were talking to at the time, but by experience i can say that even if we aske the taxi company a large taxi, if it's not available, the a regular taxi will show up. This is not our fault. We don't own the taxi company. What is sure is that if you would have told us a few days before about the taxi , we would have been abke to reserve a large one, but on short notice like that it's up to the availabilities. Lovely staff and atmosphere

We arrived early in the morning and the staff ensured we had a relaxing time (breakfast followed by jacuzzi and then swimming pool) until we could check in the room. During our entire stay, everyone was extremely helpful and friendly and we had a great time. The breakfast buffet was also delicious.

Hidden Gem

Great location. Quite and efficient AC. We had a good deal w Hotels.com and thus it was a good value for the price.

In the center of the city

This hotel is quite vintage and is very convenient for being located in the center walking distances to everything , shopping restaurant , beach etc . It's also very quiet and I enjoyed the pool a lot .

Perfect place to stay.

This hotel is delightful.Tucked away from the busy roads to make it peaceful yet just a two minute walk to all you need.Having visited the bigger places i.e. Antibes,Nice,Cannes and Monaco the location of this hotel is definitely the best-big enough for atmosphere, small enough to feel local. The room was big enough for the amount of time you are likely to be in it for. Funiture quite well worn but traditional and functional.Only one wardrobe so not great for hanging space.Beds-2 singles 'pushed together' but were comfortable.Bathroom really small but clean with a good shower and again just about big enough.Fresh towels every day. Room had air conditioning which is a must.Small balcony to sit out though not really a view to speak off.Breakfast was self serve-plentiful fresh bread/fruit etc.Reasonable value at 10 euro per person. Small pool which was lovely for an afternoon cool down.Plenty of restaurants/bars/beach within a two minute walk.Staff were very friendly and available for advice on travel requirements/taxi to airport.The train station is just a few minutes walk from which you can get to anywhere along the Riviera very efficiently and cheaply.I would not bother hiring a car unless you want to go inland.

Great location, old-fashioned charm helpful staff

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and although we made the effort to speak French where possible, they were more than happy to speak English to us. Buffet breakfast was great, lots of choice, including some cooked food and you could eat in dining room, conservatory or garden, all great surroundings. Nice pool area although be aware that the hot tub is elsewhere. Only downfalls were the size of our room - would have expected it to be bigger, for the price. Also, the bath was never cleaned, even though we brought this to their attention. No shower screen/curtain for the bath/shower either which meant that there was a lot of water on the floor. Very chic, old fashioned charm about it and we really enjoyed our stay. Booked airport shuttles through hotel which were a reasonable price although the driver taking us back to the airport seemed in far too much of a hurry! Great location, shops, small supermarket, great restaurants and lovely beach really close by.

Nice butic hotel to stay.

Antibes is the right place to stay for this territory. You can reach easily everywhere around it.
