Awful

Posted Jun 5, 2017
Cons: Everything Blankets , room , etc
Location: Close to town so you can walk
The hotel location was pretty good. The hotel itself is awful. Old..................The room had blankets that looked like they were 20 years old. Cigarette burns and holes in them , the pillows were useless, the hotel even smelled old. For a 139.00 a night you think they good afford to buy new blankets and updated the place.

We are sorry you feel this way. The hotel has been completely renovated over the last two years. All the rooms have been painted and have new carpets. The bathrooms have new flooring and vanities. Hopefully next time your in Juneau you will try us again.

Disgusting hotel and staff

Posted May 26, 2017
First impression - very old hotel with ancient facilities, but clean. taking a closer look you find a heater/ conditioner falling apart, the exhaust in the restroom makes a noise as if the rocket was taken off. Next day we met our housekeeper; zero English skills!!! We left the room at 7 am, came back at 4 pm to find our room not cleaned. We Put the service sign and head down to reception. There I was told that by mistake the room was marked as cleaned, it was not changed since we checked in!!! Then I was told that there are no cleaners available and there won't be any until next day. No apology and no solution!!! I then asked for fresh towels. We then head oht for another walk. After about 3 hours we came back and passing by the lobby, the receptionist yelled: "oh, I forgot your towels". Later we found our bath towels on some dirty random table by the door... Next day- luckily its time to check out!! We stop by reception where we learned late check out is impossible to accommodate and the time to leave is 12 noon. I asked steward to get a luggage trolley. The steward kept eating his banana as he spoke with me and informed me that I need to go down to the lobby and get my own trolley. We then asked why the room was not cleaned yesterday, no explanation, just banana chewing! We go to check out, my husband's watch was Not changed (10 to 1 pm) receptionist then states in accusing tone: check out at noon. He looks at clock - current time 10 to noon, tone changed " you re on time"

Great views, pleasant hotel, friendly staff

Posted May 1, 2017
Location: Juneau is small, and easy to get around. We walked to hiking, sightseeing and museums. Hotel is next to history museum - don't miss it!
View of water and mountains more than offset the traffic noises from the highway. Very friendly and helpful staff - even providing extra coffee unasked when they noticed we used up the 3 our first day. Typical Alaskan hotel; very clean. Easy access to everything.

Pros: customer service
Cons: the marriage between Expedia and Prospectors
Location: lots.
Expedia and the Prospectors needs to keep a strong relationship. when I booked my stay, my paperwork stated check out and in was at 3pm. By noon on our last day, we were being kicked out for Gold Medal guests. I didn't appreciate it, but when I rushed back to the hotel to talk with the attendant, she apologized and I am still watching for what they charged me. I shouldn't be charged for not checking out in time, when my paperwork states 3pm and the hotel is kicking us out by noon for other guests. I don't think that's right, but I am not going to worry about it. the stay was great, food was wonderful, drinks were awesome and the hotel was clean. everyone liked the porch and using real keys, instead of cards.

Make sure to ask about check out times!!

Pros: the rooms, the porch, the key to the door, the friendly staff
Cons: the marriage between Prospectors and Expedia. Expedia told us check out was 3pm, Prospectors kicked us out by noon.
Location: We chose Prospectors, because our conference was right next door at the Centennial building and was very convenient for my staff to walk to class.
Expedia paperwork told me that check in and check out was at 3pm. Odd I thought, but whatever. go with demands. Come day of check out, my group had planned our day around check out. We had ALL DAY to wait for our late late flight back home. with the 3pm check out, we were kind of happy with, so that we wouldn't have to be in the rental car for so long. I was on my way back to the hotel and one of my employees called to tell me that they are literally kicking them out of their rooms and that check out was at noon...I made my way there and went straight up to the hotel clerk and told her that my paperwork states 3pm. I had asked her to check with Expedia, because we had planned our day around the times that was given to us. The lady was very nice and took care of the issue while I ran to my room and throw everything into my suitcase...ugh. the lady did apologize when I dropped the key off. She was nice. We did like the fact that the rooms have actual KEYS and not cards! every employee of mine complimented on that aspect! very convenient to have a bar and restaurant within the hotel and parking was great. We also liked the "porch" that we had outside our window. was a fun feature and was great for my cigarette smoker in the bunch. overall, great staff, clean rooms and spacious. good review, besides the hiccup. I was told that because Gold Medal was playing in town, that the hotel was filling up and so that was why they were practically kicking us out. not cool.
