Concierge staff had terrible attitude!! That was the worst experience ever!!! We requested for baby bunk bed but the staff insisted we had to request this before checking in and they had no inventory whatsoever without checking. this was my fourth check in at this property and there was always a baby bunk bed provided nevertheless we never requested. He had a cranky and arrogant attitude which got me astonished!! Later one of the staffs provided us with adequate equipments but we wished the previous staff could have checked before saying he could never provide. Also the check in out staff didn’t know what was going on. Which took us longer than we should spend at those moments. Room service and house keeping was slow.. and wasnt accurate with their service. Breakfast menu should be updated once in a while. I would give this property one star or less

Please save your money. If you are looking for a nice high end hotel, use the new Lottel Signiel Tower hotel. If you prefer location, Shilla hotel is more classy. The only reason to stay at the banyan tree is the outdoor pool which is really expensive. However, everything else is not worth it. VIP benefits stated by Expedia are meaningless at this hotel. We had the suite but it literally had no windows. A window in the bedroom but opened to some wall. Asked for some service such as extra coffee capsule but took forever. Wanted to use the golf range but they charged us. Wanted to use the indoor pool after checkout but they said no. There is a kids club but can't be used by hotel guests. Some of the food was served rather cold. Other food such as vegetables were noticeably dirty. In general, this is a club for members. If you are visting, I highly recommend the other hotels mentioned above. Staff are somewhat rude. There are some expectations for a high end hotel and they have failed in many ways.

Disappointing customer service and food quality
Considering this is a 5-star hotel, I expected punctuality, to say the least. However, our check-in was delayed by 50 minutes, and their reason was because housekeeping wasn’t ready, which is an unreasonable excuse. By the time we got to our room, the shower booth was still wet (I assume it was from the cleaning), which left us unpleasant. On a different but related note, room service was horrible. I’ve had better tasting food at my neighborhood restaurant, and french fries we ordered were not crisp. McDonald’s has better fries than this place. For a 5-star hotel, I don’t think the expectations I had were extremely high. Just be punctual and elevate the food quality, at least better than that of McDonald’s.

Worth every penny! Location is amazing, you're in the city, about a mile from Itaewon and below Seoul Tower, but you feel like you're in a private setting as well, away from the hustle and bustle. The views from the room are unbeatable. One of the most spacious rooms I have ever stayed in. The facilities and amenities are unbeatable. The staff was extremely helpful and gracious.

Was there for one night for relaxing, it was a rainy day and our room was near or under the pipe or something, woke us up because of the water running sound all night long. The room was super clean and had amazing bathroom where you could enjoy a relaxing bath. Had dinner at the club house, good service and good food. The breakfast was included so I did not have high hopes but everything was clean and delicious and they even offered Korean meal options (with no extra charge) which was made to order.

Don't waste your Money.
The hotel was okay but it's not worth the price. Any of the listed amenities or either non-functioning or outdated. The food was okay but nothing to really write home about. Overall I think this hotel is living off of a name that it established years ago. For the cost associated with the room, I expected this hotel to be much more accommodating. I will not stay here again.

Luxury Hotel with not enough trained staffs
I booked 2 rooms, one primer suite and another Banyan room I arrived there at 3 pm exact time it mentioned on paper. But i needed to wait for over 30 min to receive the Keys, as they told the room's not ready, i can understand but they did not tell me why it takes so long, i was sitting in front of Check-in desk without explanation. And the staffs were not very kind, they just passed by every time i faced them in elevators or at the lobby. Breakfast was also very disapointed, there were not much food and the staffs were not very kind to ask what customers need. The tables were not enough for all the guests at the hotel. For the luxury hotel like this, i expected lot higher service, but not satisfied at all. i do not think i will use this hotel again

Nice room but little bit disappointed
Very spacious room with good view, comfortable bed, and quiet. But the room was bit cold during night, not ideal to stay in the middle of winter. It took almost 1 hour to get my breakfast menu, the tiny restaurant was full on Saturday morning, and the staff missed my order. It was a bit disappointing, and not pleasant experience.

Nice hotel, but not worth the money spent
First of all, while checking in, I had to ask all the questions about Orbitz VIP perks because the staff did not know about them. The unique feature is a room with a spa bathtub of more than a king size bed and sauna in the shower booth. That's all. Nothing special anymore. The spa bathtub was supposed to be at a constant temperature automatically, but it gradually went down. To raise the temperature, it is necessary to call a staff, which was very uncomfortable to those who visited here for a private moment. The hotel says that water in the bathtub constantly is being cleaned, but I saw floating matters in the water. And the sauna system could not reach its target temperature 50 Celsius degrees. Lastly, after the check-out, a staff in the reception desk forgot to call a cap for me, keeping me waiting outside. Plus, the doorman did not ask anything to me watching me waiting for a cab.

Good but could have been better.
We came here for a 2 day break at the beginning of our honeymoon looking for a relaxing and romantic stay. It drew us there because of the wide range of relaxing things to do including the indoor pool and the outside pool called the "Oasis". Prior to booking, I received an email from the hotel booking site with a message that the indoor pool was going to be closed the day we arrived. When we got there, we also found that the Oasis pool was closed too. Also, owing to an event, their terrace area was closed too. The closure of the Oasis was the biggest downpoint as on the photos and in person, it looks amazing, however, it was going through some significant building work and wouldn't be ready for another couple of weeks. We felt massively let down that we hadn't been told of this and there was no mention of this on their website when we booked. We complained and after being initially offered a bottle of wine and much further pushing on our part, we were offered dinner for two with wine in their restaurant, the Granum dining lounge. This turned out to be utterly amazing- one of the best meals I have ever had. From start to end and also the complimentary wine, we were blown away at how good it was. So all in all, we were satisfied with this compromise. The breakfast which is also served in this restaurant is excellent too- easily the best hotel buffet I have ever had with both western and Korean food to enjoy. We would have preferred if the hotel had been more proactive though.

Very friendly staff, but facility is limited
This hotel is located in the quiet area of Seoul and feels more like a resort or nice fitness club. But the room we stayed in was in an old remodeled building with very low ceiling furnished with dark furniture. Even though they try to make luxurious, the room was dark overall (we don't like anything dark). Otherwise, the location is good surround by green mountain and the staff was extremely friendly wanting to please us. Someone told us that the new main building has a higher ceiling. Overall, it is a nice hotel.

Love the views mountain and city views!
I was really pleased by my choice of hotel. I originally planned to stay at the Shilla or Westin but thought the Banyan will be different from the norm. It is! I really liked the tranquility pool in my suite. I normally would not use hotel pools (neurotic) but decided to give this a try. I enjoyed it a lot! The spa facilities and restaurants are also very good. The service - amazing! Thank you.

Great hardware; inconsistent service
The hardware of the hotel is great - the suite was spacious, very clean and the view is great. We stayed with our 7 month old and she had a ball in the relaxation pool. However, the service was very inconsistent - there was always something missing in the room service delivery (no cutlery; no napkins; or they forgot the tea), getting a taxi can for some reason be a very complicated exercise depending on who's at the reception, and we got the feeling that they are more used to serving local guests rather than international visitors. One thing to note is that the restaurants in the hotel are very sad looking - definitely not what we expected at a Banyan Tree (and we've stayed in a few). The Club restaurant was totally empty at dinner time and looked like a cafeteria in a 3-star hotel (we did not eat there). Perhaps they don't really expect you to eat there when there are so many options in town.

nice hotel with a good trail
I visited this hotel with my husband and we had a good time since we really needed some peace and quiet these days. There is a nice trail nearby so we went for stroll breathing fresh air. The pool was nearly empty few people swimming. I definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
