A lovingly restored rural hotel in the tiny, blue-painted hill town of Juzcar, Hotel Bandolero was a great escape from the noise and crowds in Andalusia. The bilingual proprietors gave personal attention and great insight into the area. Terrific restaurant complements of chef Ivan. The drive in from any direction can be somewhat harrowing, as the winding, two-way road is just over one lane wide as it passes through the gorgeous Sierra Nevada. The smurfiness was cute but a little cloying.

Thank you for your comment.
One correction, the hotel is not a restoration, it was purpose- built new.
