"Great Value in the middle of Ka'anapali"
Probably the best value in the area, we had a room in the hotel tower but it's a hue property and there are cottages for larger groups. Great amenities as well Luau onsite (didn't attend as went to one last time on Maui), large tennis facility, right on a golf course, beach side hotel easy walking distance to black rock and whaler's village, two swimming pools. It's not as luxurious as some of the spots in the area but it had everything we needed and we were there to explore the island rather than lounge by the pool so this checked all the boxes. Didn't eat at the restaurant so can't comment on the food, ice cream shop was nice though.

I arrived after dark in a rented car. Signs for the registration desk and guest parking were so poorly lit that I had to circle back before I found the registration desk. Some event was going on when I arrived--Luau? Wedding reception? and there was NO PLACE to park near my room, and almost no place to park at all. After an hour or two many spaces were available. I do not know if this is typical or not. Only one electrical outlet was available to charge phones/computers etc Basic room, quite satisfactory for the price. If I wanted something fancier I would have expected to pay more.

Pocket Guide: Maui Island Kaanapali Hawaiian Hotels

Kaanapali is a prime vantage point for viewing humpback whales, which swim by December to May. The town’s whaling history is displayed at Whaler’s Village, a shopping complex and museum. Visitors also can experience the area’s farming past by riding the Sugar Cane Train, a restored steam locomotive. Snorkelers and divers can enjoy the coral reefs and fish that thrive in nearby Black Rock Beach.
