Amazing Hotel

Posted Feb 23, 2018
This was our first trip to Hawaii and we are so happy we made the right choice with our hotel. Staff was fantastic and it was a nice quiet location close to Waikiki. Will definitely book this hotel in the future. Amazing views,!

Relaxing hotel

Posted Feb 18, 2018
We came here when it was Kahala Mandarin Oriental and when they change to just Kahala , maybe this is our 4th or 5th time here, we love this hotel, its been 6 yrs the last time we came, its was our first time to have a room at the 1st floor at first im not really comfortable and they are told us we will be move the next day but after a night my husband said to just stay, the only thing on our first day the bidet is not working and we noticed paint on the toilet area is peeling off, the next day they fixed the bidet problem but when leaving the room the latch of the door got loose which was fixed when we came back, i wonder how often they check the rooms for maintenance . I love the turned down i noticed they dont placed white rug anymore at bed side in place are the sleepers . One time we stay at the lobby we sat at the sofa it is so uncomfortable it is sagging i hope they could do something to those sofas ,so worn out .other than these we had a very relaxing stay and still love the hotel

Dolphins

Posted Feb 10, 2018
It was wonderful the only thing I would love to do was to have a picture taken with the dolphins at the hotel I ask n was told I would have to ask the other people cause they rent the space from the hotel I think if u r a guess of the hotel u should be able to at least have one picture with the dolphins at no cost just cause u r a guest of the hotel I wasn’t asking to swim with them or anything the hotel should offer one free picture with them for each room if the guest uses their own camera

Classic hotel. A respite in Oahu, far from the maddening shore of Waikiki. Expensive, but worth it.

Seen better days

Beautiful setting but hotel has seen better days. Rooms still very comfortable but property needs a major upgrade at these rates.

Great hotel away from Waikiki

Posted Jan 22, 2018
Great hotel. It has a nice choice of restaurants. Hoku’s is amazing and their Italian restaurant Aracino’s is another great choice. They had the best risotto I’ve ever had. The beach was not too crowded and the staff was so polite and helpful.

Old and dated, too pricey for what you get

Posted Jan 9, 2018
Pros: On the beach
Cons: Needs a complete remodel and the dolphin pool is tiny, its just cruel.
Location: Well it's in Honolulu so there is a ton of stuff to do. Golf, hike, snorkel, shop, nightlife, etc etc.
This place was once the gold standard of hotels in Honolulu but it has seen better days. It is just old and dated. Still very nice and right on the beach but it lacks the high quality you would expect for such an outrageous price.
