The best hotel we have ever experienced in Greece. We got a good rate as our daughter finished exams in June so we travelled in early July - rates seem to rise on around the 16th. Viva Mare is located about 100M from the beach, up a side road, overlooking the small holiday town of Finikounda. The hotel has an excellent pool, reasonably priced pool bar for drinks, a small taverna - little used by guests but actually very good. The room rate includes daily cleaning and a breakfast buffet which is pretty good. The facilities are in superb condition because the hotel is only a couple of years old, and rooms vary in style and layout - all charming island style. Try and find the 360 degree room viewer on the hotel's own web site for a detailed look at each unit. Some are on the ground floor for the less able, other's have an eagle's eye view of the coast and are up a couple of flights. The hotel feels very quiet, even when fully booked, and most visitors are Greek families who enjoy going to the beach in the mornings, and using the pool in the late afternoon. Sound insulation between rooms is excellent. Beds are superb and in good condition. Extra pillows on request. Daily cleaning is exceptional. We were really knocked out by this place. The Manager Evi speaks very good English and she and the rest of her staff could not have been more helpful. There's the usual half-finished construction next door, but that's beyond the control of the hotel and we expect that in Greece. Excellent
