Modernist hotel in a hip neighborhood

Very nice lobby, in modernist style with lots of glass, steel and leather furniture. Room was similarly appointed and very comfortable, if a little small, and without too many facilities for storing clothing. There was a problem with our reservation and the desk clerk spent a good half hour on the phone dealing with a third-party provider to resolve it. We very much appreciated the excellent service.
The hotel offers free parking in an open-air lot right next to it--an amenity, which is quite unusual for hotels in Kansas City's Country Club Plaza, Westport or Crown Center areas.
The location in the heart of Westport, with its many restaurants, clubs and bars, is good. Major museums (Nelson-Atkins; Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art) and the Country Club Plaza shopping district are a very short drive, or a half-mile walk away.
Combining modernist style, helpful staff, free parking and a good location, make this hotel a desirable destination for anyone staying in Kansas City.
