When I checked in, the amount charged was higher than what I had reserved on hotels.com. ($148 v $144). I know, only $4. When I questioned the man, he said he was adding "surcharge fees" to my bill. I showed him the hotels.com reservation, and he lowered the surcharge fee to $1. I know, it's only a dollar, but what's to stop him from making it $10 or $25 next time.
There won't be a next time for me.
That being said, the room was clean, warm and comfortable. The shower worked, good pressure and hot water.
I did not make it down for the breakfast, so can't comment on that.
I have stayed at this location in the past and did not notice a "surcharge fee". Maybe it's a practice they have just recently instituted?
