Very nice Hotel and location for downtown KC

In KC for a volleyball tournament at the KC convention center. Weather was icy and cold. The hotel has an underground walkway to the convention center so was nice not to have to go out in the weather. Hotel is fabulous. Fun bar restaurant. Rooms are fabulous. Really have none negative to say.

Close to things downtown

This hotel is close to everything downtown. The room was just ok. The shower curtain was only hanging in by two hooks. The room was dirty, and still had some items from the previous person.

Folly Theatre Trip

Pros: I used to like that it was located right next to the Folly Theatre but not this trip.
Cons: More parking

For years I stayed at the Marriott Downtown and attended the Folly theatre which is located right next door. I went up early from Joplin and ate at Jack's BBQ for dinner but when I tried to check into the Hotel the parking was full and there was no extra parking available, everything was full. I was going to have to park so far away from the hotel and by that time I was late for the show at the Folly theatre so I just drove back home to Joplin. I did not get to see the show or stay at the Marriott. Yet I paid for both. There are so many other events in that same location that the traffic is at a stand-still most of the time. I will not be staying at the Marriott in the future or going to the Folly theatre. It has just gotten way to busy and congested.

We are very sorry to hear about your poor experience while trying to see a show at the Folly Theater and the issues with parking which caused you to return home. Parking and traffic can be challenging downtown when there are multiple events happening. I do apologize if our self parking spaces were full but please know that our valet staff would have been more than happy to park your car for you. I do hope that you will not let this experience keep you from returning to Kansas City to enjoy events on the future.

Not Bad

Pros: It was a nice room. Clean and comfortable. It won't let me finish this rating without adding more compliments. Ridiculous
Cons: The housekeepers knocked on my door over and over starting at 7 am. I have never had that happen before. It was so annoying. The waitstaff in the bar was terrible

We are glad that our hotel was convenient for you to see a show at the Midway Theater. I would like to apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with our staff knocking on your door. Our Housekeeping staff starts at 8:00 AM and I am not sure if it was them. We will ensure that they are not starting any earlier than that. In your future stays most hotels have the Do not Disturb sign in the guest rooms for our guests use. We do hope that you will choose our hotel again when you return to Kansas City.

Incredible Staff

Cons: The pillows on the beds. They were all too soft.
A colleague and I were down in Kansas City on a business trip and we were more entertained and enjoyed talking to the staff than any other hotel we've stayed at. They were happy professional and courteous at any given moment we encountered them. Highly recommend this Marriott.

Friendly and clean

The bed was amazing. Every single staff person was nice and welcoming. My room was clean. Great place to stay!

Broken Phone and Sink

Cons: better phone & sink
Location: It was slow on my trip. Otherwise, great location
They also told me that they would be able to have a roll away when I booked, then when I got there, I had to get an extra room because of some fire code issue. That was not cool.
