Business weekend

Stayed for 4 nights.. bed was comfy, view from room was great.. staff member Rita was super nice and very helpful!!!! Location was perfect!! With mall just downstairs from our room, we didn't have to leave the hotel to find food.. plenty of restaurants in mall.. we hope to stay again soon!!

Nice hotel close to many attractions.

Perfect location for tourists. Very convenient and easy to walk to various attractions. Nice hotel but it is so large that it needs more signage. We got lost in the parking garage.

Pros: Three years since I have stayed at the Westin Crown Center and like the lobby improvements. Room was termed as traditional which is Westin coded language for " yet to be updated" and round the corner at the end of the corridor with a poor view but that seems to be the price you pay for getting a good deal with Expedia! It's as if the hotel is ticked with you for saving money! I would like to see updating for the bar/restaurant area which is dark and non descript. There's a great opportunity for guests to dwell longer in this area if it was updated with a defined separation between the bar and restaurant areas with large screen TV's and more of a sports bar feel to it.
Cons: See above for overall comments about the hotel in general
Location: New tram makes it easy to get to the Power and Light district from the hotel which is where most of the nightlife is in KC

No internet, Wet Floor, & Overpriced

Pros: Close to Legoland but, there are other hotels near by.
Cons: Internet, Water leaks, general maintenance.
Location: Legoland, Aquarium, Museums.
When we got to the room the carpet between the TV and bed was soaked. Maintenance dried up what they could with towels. For $200/night I expected to have internet. I called about it and was told there was nothing they could do. I rode the elevator with a guy with an Apple computer Logo on his shirt and he stated he didn't have internet either. I started to take a shower and found the hose to the shower head was shooting water past the curtain on to the floor. We went to use the hot tub and found a sign stating it was closed. We asked when it might be open and were told it had a broken thermostat so they didn't know.

Too many hidden expenses at expensive hotel

Didn't expect daily charges of 9.95 to access wi-fi. If I wanted fast internet access, it was 14.95. Water bottle on room cost 1.00. Hotel is tired and worn looking. Didn't have maid service for one day. Phone in room was old and hard to operate. Plus hotel blocked my own cell phone because I didn't pay 9.95 a day for it too.

In the heart of midtown.

Pros: Clean, comfortable rooms. Close the Crown Center.
Cons: Parking
We were very happy with our room and the amenities. The Staff was helpful and friendly. The location was close to where we wanted to spend our time.

Great hotel, need a little more assistance with finding the parking garage or more signs. Giving directions to people who have never stayed doesn't really help especially when the directions do not make sense. Or just pay for valet.

Chose for the location

Pros: The towels-brand new, soft and fluffy!
Cons: Cleanliness, update the halls- carpet is terrible, light fixtures are dated, windows are dirty.
Location: Plaza, Power and Light District, Union Station,
Our experience at this hotel was terrible! First Expedia mis represented what a work out room is. I booked at a higher rate thinking it would have some perk to make it worth the extra $ such as a better view, maybe close to the spa/gym etc... Checked in- found out what a work out room was-which is a room with workout equipment including a gigantic treadmill! Who wants to wake up to that eye sore? Returned to our room at 3:30 room had not been serviced-it never got made up. They allow pets- which there were several around us- happy barking dogs ANNOYING!! The room was dirty- we have stayed here before and it has never been pristine but this time was the worst. I will let the photos speak for themselves- Expedias misrepresentation of the room and the filth. We have used Expedia for a long time and it seems as though the room assignment when we arrive at the hotel is never a prime room but likely to be by the elevator, ice machine, terrible view or as in the case this last time on the floor with the barking dogs. I am not sure saving a few dollars is worth a more pleasant experience that I may get by avoiding a 3rd party to book my room.
