An Unfortunate Disappointment

We were in town for a wedding and were really looking forward to staying at a luxury 4 star hotel. The lobby was grand and we enjoyed the waterfall and access to The Link with fun shops and restaurants. The room on the other hand did not match the 4 star quality that we were expecting. The rainfall shower head was the best feature, but the bathroom floors were not well cleaned. We had a great view of Union Station from our room, however the dead bolt lock on our balcony door was not usable. The linens were very heavy and luxurious, although ours had some stains. The photo I posted of the linens was not the stain, but possibly the remnants of what used to be feathers? Either way, it was not comforting to curl up with that blanket. Our coffee maker was not well cleaned and there was a large hair in it the moment I opened it up, gross. The fridge did not cool correctly and spoiled the items I placed in it, also the iron was not functional. I did make the staff aware of these problems and asked them to fix them after checkout time as my husband was still asleep (this was early morning) and instead they immediately called the room and sent the staff to replace items while I had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, this was quite frustrating. Also there was heavy water damage to our ceiling, although the photo does not show it quite well due to the bright light from the window. Overall, I expected a lot more from a 4 star hotel, especially since we paid nearly $200 per night.
