Only thing that would be a nice improvement is affordable breakfast! Some kind of free breakfast and/or much more affordable breakfast! The service and food was wonderful but I couldn't imagine how much the family sitting next to me had to pay to feed their 3 young boys!!!

Disappointing Marriott Property

This is a very basic hotel that is not up the standards I expected from Marriott. The rooms were dirty and very dated in addition to being very small. The climate control would not allow me to cool the room, and it maintained a temp of 76 degrees for my entire stay. This was very uncomfortable and sleep was difficult. I stayed for several days, the location was a $30+ dollar ride to downtown and there is literally nothing within walking distance, so location was very poor for the price.

In Desperate Need Of A Renovation

Pros: The front desk clerks were very friendly. Parking is free- which avoids the cost of a valet.
Cons: Aesthetic features absolutely need updated here. Water spot walls and grungy floors make for an uncomfortable stay. Even the bar needs an update.
Location: T Bone Charlie's is the only nearby bar and eatery; located off the lobby. Decent selection of beer, but the bartender was a bit unprofessional.
I made the mistake of staying here on March 25th while passing through Kansas City. I wouldn't say I was appalled by my experience here, but I was certainly taken aback. Online this Marriot had a 3.5 star rating- similar to other Marriots around the US. This Marriot so drastically fell short. I realize that due to the airport location they may not offer as many amenities as other Marriots, but even so- this hotel was truly a mark on Marriot's name. We checked in at 11:00 PM and the man who checked us in at the front counter was very friendly. He promptly got us our information and pointed us towards our room. Parking is free here, which is nice. The lobby is well-maintained, but don't let the entrance fool you. Once we arrived on the 3rd floor, I realized this wasn't quite the 3.5 I was expecting. The door to our room was very worn down and the carpets in the hallway were visibly ill-maintained. Our room itself was clean in terms of the basics. Clean sheets, clean pillows, clean towels. But the bathroom door had signs of flooding along the bottom edge and the walls had visible water spots (which, having lived in homes with similar spots, may have meant there was mold underneath). The couch was clean, but again- just visibly old and well-used. The floors and walls in the room were nothing to rave about either. It's not that the maids had not done their job; the basics of the room were very clean. It's just that the room needed updated. A desperate renovation is in order.

Not a Marriott

Not a typical Marriott. The Hotel rooms bathroom was the smallest I've have ever seen and had a drop ceiling over the bathtub. No free wifi and no coffee in lobby.

Basic isolated airport hotel. Lots of construction so was noisy and dusty. The staff was very nice, helpful and supportive. No Wifi for a business hotel in this day and age?

Most friendly staff at the hotel

Pros: Close to the airport. Has shuttle to drive from and to the airport. Clean. Most of all, friendly staff!
Cons: It would be nice to have free access to Wifi throughout the hotel.
Location: Nice to walk around the hotel, especially in a warm spring day.
All of the staff at Kansas City airport Marriott were super friendly! They make everything very convenient for me. When I arrived late at night, they had the shuttle to pick me up quickly. The next day, they allowed my colleague and I to work in the lounge so that we saved about two hours driving time, which was very valuable to us. I would definitely stay again at the hotel when I go to Kansas City. I would also highly recommend the hotel to other people. Thank you!
