Nice hotel

Can't get any closer to the airport than this. The staff was very friendly and quick with my check in. The room is what i expected with the added bonus of a fridge and microwave.

What works?

Pros: distance to airport.
Cons: Things like television and air/heat could work.
Location: Great distance to airport.
We checked into the KC Airport Marriott to save relatives a 4:30 AM trip. Room felt warm, but we unloaded cart, while one returned the other adjusted temp. and got stuff out. Room temperature stayed 80 degrees, no air felt. After two servicemen arrived and did their job, the temperature increased to 81. Asked to be moved. Brought us room cards, but no cart or any help. 2nd room, settled in to discover hour that television didn't work. Service man arrived. 30 minutes later (well into football game), and with my husband's help, the television worked! 2nd person was needed because of the way the tv was installed. Much to the service mans disgust, the sets there are installed in a way that the cords are inaccessible. We were offered nothing in the way of a "sorry" for the inconvenience. A drink at the bar, a few dollars off the hotel bill or toward the next would not have changed the loss of time, work to move bags and the inconvenience of having strangers in both the rooms, but that would indicate that Marriott at least took responsibility for what they put us through.

Overnight stay

Pros: Closeness to airport.
Cons: Overall the room met my needs, no stand out inadequacy.
Location: Easy to get to and from the airport, I’m not able to suggest/ comment on things to do nearby.
Everything was ok, the toilet did run Loudly)-I fixed on my own.

Not for Families

Austin at the front desk snapped at me when I walked downstairs after waiting for over an hour for housekeeping. Dirty wood floors, we waited for 2 hours for housekeeping to bring a broom to sweep up a broken glass while we tried to keep our baby on the bed. Our other daughter got glass in her foot while wearing sandals. Fabian handed me the broom and never came back. For what we paid for this airport location, I didn’t expect to have to clean the floors! I took a photo of the dust and broken glass pile- if anyone cares. Not an environment for families traveling with small children. Beds were comfortable, there were only 2 towels for 4 people, so we had to call and wait on that. With 2 queen beds, you would think that there would be at least 4 towels. Construction in the lobby with workers staring at the female guests- very uncomfortable to have to walk past them! Especially while traveling with my young daughters- disgraceful behavior. The restaurant staff provided attentive service and they were both gracious and friendly. The food was fine.

Remodeling

The motel is remodeling the restaurant/bar area. Also, when we check in at 5:30 and went up to our room the cleaning service was still cleaning. Oh well, it happens..

Night from nightmares

The hotel was being remodeled inside. I understand that. They had a big event at the hotel and was very loud. No place to eat. Fire alarms went off at 11:00 pm and lasted until 1:30 in the am. We had an early flight the next morning with no sleep. My husband was disabled in a wheelchair. Getting a man in a wheelchair up and dressed for a fire alarm was miserable. Then they said it was a false alarm. Then it wasn't and everyone out until 1:30a.m. The next morning we were to have a wheelchair transport waiting for us to go to the Airport. That is why we stayed there. We had to wait for over 30 minutes for a yellow cab to get us to the airport. I was allowed to leave my car there and they would pick us up on the return flight and take to our vehicle. We arrived at 3:30pm on Saturday and no one was waiting. Called hotel and Wheelchair van was broke. I even called for them to pick me up and let me get my van to take husband home. Nope it just went to voice mail. Finally it took 1 hour after I called yellow cab and they took me to get my own van to go home. This is one hotel that does not take care of the handicapped at all. I will never use them again or do I even recommend it to anyone else.
