While the location of this property next to the Kapaa walking/pedestrian path is good and the staff at the resort front desk are really nice the privately owned condos are not. Building J in particular is of very poor construction between floors with every sound travelling between floors. We were very disappointed to find that our booking ended up not only being adjacent the parking lot, and while the reservation was for a king size bed with garden view, the bedroom had only a double, not even a queen-sized bed! Our neighbours immediately above us were up constantly in the night, with very loud banging, flushing toilets etc.
When we went up in the middle of the first night to ask them very politely if they could be a little quieter they responded by saying “well the people above us are noisy too”. That said they did quieten a little after that and the next morning we left a note thanking them. Unfortunately though they got even worse the next night. We asked the resort the following morning if we might change the room but were told it was a private booking and they could not do anything about it. We endured one more night and contacted Expedia. After more than an hour and forty minutes on the phone Expedia finally confirmed the troubles we had been having and persuaded the owners of the unit to allow us to cancel the last two nights and refund us. At first Expedia was going to leave us out of pocket at least another US$200 but finally they agreed to essentially make our cost
