From Kasilof, the city of Anchorage is 75 miles (121 kilometers) to the northeast.
Even though South Central Alaska is a little off the beaten track, there are still plenty of things to experience in the vicinity of Kasilof. Sterling, lays 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the southwest, while Ninilchik is located 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the northeast.
Homer, is another interesting place to discover. It is around 50 miles (80 kilometers) from Kasilof and offers a number of interesting things to do and see, for example Kachemak Bay State Park, Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center and Homer Spit. Take advantage of the knowledge of the locals and take one of the wildlife spotting tours. This area is a good place to get outside and participate in some great winter activities. When the temperature falls, grab your mittens and scarf and try snowboarding or skiing.
