The staff is absolutely first class‼️ As are all KGH Group properties, the management is cheap. Half rolls of toilet paper, no tissues in the room, their lovely old wooden furniture needs varnish and repairing chips. I love the fact that there is a bunch of half feral cats, all well fed and taken care of by the staff. They lounge around in the gardens. They don’t approach the guests but also don’t run away. They make the place feel homey. I have asthma and appreciate hotels which are accessible. This hotel is definitely NOT accessible! I think that there are a few accessible rooms in the lobby building but they have 3 restaurants, including their breakfast buffet, which I rate 2 or 3 star, none of which are accessible. They do have room service available. Their staff is 6 star! Everyone is extremely helpful and they go out of their way to provide everything that you require. Their food and bar are over priced and aimed at Indian guests. Their chef happily takes special requests, but is not always successful. I will fondly remember my stay, but because of the inaccessibility, will probably not return.

Great upsides, some downsides.
The food and service was generally excellent. Parash is the best manager they have, he was brilliant and helped out with things outside his purview all the time when he was on duty. For the event we ran, the service was very good. Sometimes we had to ask for simple things like a whiteboard and whiteboard markers, but the response was prompt. It was nice that hotel offered an airport transfer, but disappointing that it came with a gringo-tax (it was double the cost of requesting a taxi using an app). I found the painting of a naked woman in my room inappropriate. The rooms were nice but the double bed mattress was *extremely* hard. I ended up sleeping in the smaller single bed for my entire stay. The do-not-disturb tag broken and I was disappointed that when I tried to prop it up near the door, it was ignored and housekeeping came anyway. Please pay attention to that. Overall, the grounds are very pretty and spacious, though some parts look a bit run-down.

The hotel was just ok... had a bad experience in the outdoor dining area. I was attacked by a monkey trying to steal my lighter off my table... he jumped up on the table and tried to take it, I grabbed it before he got it and he attacked me and scratched my arm until it was bleeding. The staff was good and cleaned my arm with antiseptic but offered no compensation for the attack.

The Best Hotel in Kathmandu
The Park Village Hotel in Kathmandu, is quite simply my favourite hotel in the whole of Nepal... It perfectly provides the best of both worlds, direct and relatively easy access to the bazaars of Thamel and Durbar Marg, and you can then relax in it’s glorious well kept and manicured gardens... I have been visiting and working in Kathmandu and the truly beautiful country of Nepal, for almost 30 years, this is currently my 12th visit and I will have spent well over 3 years of my life in Nepal, at the end of this extraordinary expedition... Irrespective of the time of year, I can not recommend, The Park Village Resort Hotel and its fellow group hotels enough... Best regards, Phil Coates DIRECTORS UK FRGS GTC IML PACT 🙏👍😎👌🙏🇳🇵🌏⛰📡👍🙏

Peace & quiet in KTM
This is a good hotel for clean air, peace & quiet. We had a pleasant stay and staff was friendly. Service can improve through training: customer service needs upgrading and service was pretty slow. The room was clean and spacious. However, the walls were paper thin. We can hear the full conversation of our neighbors. A lot of sockets/power outlets were not working. There were no sheets in between the duvet and bed...& we didnt know how often they change the duvet as it didnt have a cover.

B'ful hotel, great staff, rooms/food need upgrade
We booked a cottage at this hotel on hotels.com and put a special request for a king bed...we reached the hotel and were given the most basic cottage with twin beds. Hotel staff told us that they had 4 categories of cottages from std non ac to super dlx ac. We told them that such options were not avlb on hotels.com, so they were kind enough to give us a free upgrade to a super deluxe ac cottage with king bed n bath. The rooms, furniture, sheets are quite old but still very expensive and need upgrade to call it a 4 star, but the lawns and rest of the property is beautiful and very well maintained. Food is average but expensive. Hot water always available in rooms, no power cuts. Hotel is located outside KTM and is great for a peaceful stay with nature all around. Pool with hill views is awesome. Half km from Budhanilkanth temple n 2 km from shivpuri national park. Staff is very polite, accommodating and smiling. Overall pleasant stay recommended due to lovely setting, pool hoping that they would improve upon the food and rooms

Worn down and overpriced hotel
The pictures look nice right? Yes, they do, but unfortunately they are at least 5 years old. Maintenance is lacking big time, and there is a reason why there is no pictures of the rooms themselves... You would never book this place if there was...! The only thing that is of expected and acceptable standard is the pool and massage place... The gym is a joke - one workout machine and a few weights, besides that it was being used a storage for paints and old carpets. We bought food twice in the restaurant and managed to order 4 dishes before we found one they actually had, and could prepare. The restaurant food is about double the price than a good restaurant in town - Down eat here, if you can avoid it! The staff is close to being the lest flexible and service minded I have ever experienced in a hotel. They overcharged us on tourist things (car rental, mountain flight etc.) and getting WiFi in the room is a money machine where you by 1 or 4 hours at the time in a logon. It works poorly and I found out that I had paid for the entire internet connection for everyone, with the money I spend on this. Use this hotel if you are trekking in the mountains close by, otherwise do yourself a favour and find another place instead. I will never return to this hotel.

Not worth the money
I was disappointed that the room offered not much more than the budget hotels in Thamel. The shower (no bathtub) had a curtain that let the whole bathroom floor become soaked. The hotel added 10% plus another 13% (taxed on your tax) to everything. There was a basket of dirty laundry in my room when I arrived and I had to request the promised complimentary water. No free Wi-Fi access, and no internet cafes nearby. Luckily it cost only 1000 Rs to get a SIM card and 1GB of data. There was no gym at all - it's under renovation. The receptionist at the spa was surly. The breakfast was very poor (and I eat pretty much anything). All in all it wasn't a BAD place, just nothing special, especially not for that price.

Quiet stay outside Kathmandu
We stayed one night before our hiking trek in a standard room, which was quite small , not really pleasant room, old fashioned, perhaps a bit overpriced. (60$). We left some baggage, so we booked another night. After our trek we had a superior room/suite, which was great, clean, good price for value. (95,-$). I can only recommend to spend the extra 35 bucks. They are worth it. Food was excellent in the restaurant, breakfast was included in the overnight and good, but nothing special, takes about 30 min to Thamel or Airport by taxi about 800 NRup? To Thamel you can also take the minibus in front of the hotel for 20NRup each. It's fun. The street to the hotel is under construction and the ride there is horror. But will change in future. The ambiente in the hotel is nice and peaceful. A lot of plants and trees. Enjoy your stay.

Great authentic Nepali hospitality
This is a great little hotel in an excellent setting just out of Kathmandu's main centre. The free shuttle service into Thamel is really cool and they also organise a free shuttle to the airport. The food is pretty good and the list of services is great. Timing on room service etc is on Nepali time, but the staff are lovely and eager to please. If your a Hyatt Regency traveler you may find service and food quality below par, but if you've stayed in other guest houses or hotels, this is easily up there with the best of local offerings.

Great pool and nice to have some comforts
This hotel is kind of an upmarket top end Nepalese hotel so if you're expecting western 4 or 5 star then you will be very disappointed. I nearly didn't book this place due to all the bad reviews but its a really pleasant place with typical Nepalese service. I'm so glad w estayed here, so nice to be away from the hussle and bustle of Kathamndu. A great place to unwind at the end of our trip. Just beware that alot of courses and conferences go on here so for women its not always nice to feel 'on show' around the pool. This is not all the time though so again you just have to take the place for what it is and then i'm sure you'll have a great time.

after 2 weeks trekking anyplace with hot shower and flushing toilet would seen like a luxury. But after the first long hot shower started to notice imperfections. shower curtain completely covered in milddew, cracks in the sink, stains on the carpet. At first it seemed very nice to be far away from the madness of Kathmandu senter. But than we decided to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant. It first started with at we could not order wine- supoosedly they didn't have any even though in the bar behind oss were several bottles. Not to mention that another customer got served wine 30 min later. Than came bread in the bread basket. Waiter got his hands dirty with mash potatoes stucked to the side of this basket. But that didn't not stop him to set it on our table. First came the rice, meat 20min later so we could eat it with cold rice. Slopiness everywhere, bored waiteresses who couldn't care less about customers. We ate in the city next day, it was absolutely worth taxi fare back and forth. Before out trekking trip we stayed in Thamel in a place called Kathmandu Guest House (which was very nice, good service, greit atmosphere) and that is where I would stay again if I was to return to kathmandu.

Pretty place but poor location
It is attractive, and workers were busy keeping the place looking very nice, but it is in a very inconvenient location, several miles out of Katmandu. Because of the geography of the roads, it is also very inconvenient to get to the most interesting places like Bhaktapor. The hotel has a website advertising its services (a bar, a weightroom, a sauna and steamroom), but only upon asking do you learn that the sauna and steamroom require a hefty extra charge (why??), and they must be "booked" hours ahead of time. The bar is small and pleasant, but it just shuts down when someone seems to decide, with no prior announcement or "last call". You just have to finish a drink and get out. The website announces airport pick-up and drop-off as if these are provided services, but the front-desk then tells you that you that only one trip is provided, and for the other you have to pay a much higher price than available via taxi. I wouldn't stay there again.

Rooms Okay, Resort and Surroundings are Awesome
The rooms we had remind you more of a dorm than a hotel, twin size beds close to the ground with a single thing pillow. The bathroom had a shower in the corner with no real separation between it and the rest of the room other than the curtain so water went all over the floor. It was good enough of a place to lay our heads and lock up our belongings - the rooms have skeleton keys that you use to lock them from the inside and out. This was actually kind of neat. There is also a free safety deposit box/locker at the front desk you can use to store quite a bit of stuff. The resort sits at the base of the foothills of the Himalayas, north of town. All the separates you from the mountains is a small village which is neat to walk through. The resort has a nice pool, bar, patio along with nice lawns which includes a Yoga area, small Buddhist temple, "life size" chess board, horse riding area and clay tennis court. There is also a small pond with Koi and a Pagoda in the middle where you can enjoy an afternoon of rest. There is "high speed" internet available in the main lobby area only via a wireless router and a prepaid account (about $1 for an hour). It is perhaps a 256k connection, good enough for my Skype to work as all I brought with me was my iPod touch. It is a quiet refuge from the noise and smells from the city. Blue skies, green grass, and a 360 degree view of the mountains. Only about a 5km ride from Ring Road (the main circle road around the perimeter of Kathmandu).

Loved the ambience
The location and the park like grounds are wonderful for a relaxing holiday. I would not want to be in central Kathmandu. It is close to some walks up into the hills and they offer a shuttle bus each day to the city. The food was average and the service was slow at times but the ambience made up for it. All told a lovely stay and we would definitely go back there. We thought it was very good value for money.

Pleasant countryside hotel outside Kathmandu
I stayed in both the standard and deluxe (suite) rooms here. Compared to similar hotels in the city, they were clean, spacious and well-kept, a value bargain. Its remoteness from the city was a problem, however. It is located in a village where there are no other eating and other facilities. It included free airport shuttle and free city shuttle, which was why I considered it to be the best of both worlds. However, desptie having emailed to the hotel my flight details, on arrival very late at night, no pickup service appeared. After having been harrassed by taxi drivers, one of them offered to call the hotel for me and would agree to drive me there, if the hotel agreed to pay for the taxi ride. In the end, the hotel settled the taxi bill directly with the driver. Guests rarely used the free city shuttle bus, which ran to/from Katmandu Guest House in Thamel, once each in the morning and evening. If no guest goes out to the city, they won't bother to send out a shuttle, in which case a guest booking only the return might have to get transport back to the hotel himself. As long as you book airport ride before check out, they will shuttle you there free. It might be a good place to stay if you don't want to mess with hectic, chaotic Kathmandu while at the same time taking advantage of proximity to city and availabililty of free shuttle, despite sparse service.

A haven away from Kathmandu
Kathmandu is a mediaeval city with the most auful traffic problem. The hotel is up the hill, on the edge of the smog layer. The hotel is delightful, if somewhat under- used. Unfortunately the Chinese arrived for a night-stop one night and about 100 high school students disturbed my other two nights.

Sanctuary from the madding crowds
Having spent a month in Nepal paying no more than $4 a night, my teenage son and I decide to spend our last bit of time in relative luxury before heading back to Australia. We wanted to swim, and be sure of a hot shower afterwards! Park Village Resort looked as though it would fit the bill without breaking our budget. The staff were friendly & efficient, the room cosy with comfortable beds, and the grounds were just delightful. Magnificent pool area. This is not a 5-star luxury resort, however we recommend Park Village for those wanting an affordable, quiet haven amidst the business of Kathmandu, with just a few frills.

Worth a taxi ride!
Park Village is a refuge from the 'madness' of central Kathmandu. Nestled at the base of the foothills it is quiet and the gardens are filled with birds. A cheap 20 minute taxi ride has you in the heart of the city. We found that it was always a comfortable thought to be heading back to the hotel after a full day of experiencing the wonders of the valley.
