Price is a bit too high for the service we got. The room is big.

Exactly that 'nice stay' that is required.

Pros: The quietness
Cons: Breakfast could be a little warmer
Location: Lots of olde world features in and around Katoomba. Photographers paradise.
Apart from the power failure, during dinner mind you, the weekend in the mountains was absolutely perfect. Not far from the crowds and just tucked away for one to enjoy the crispness and serenity of the area. Many little gems also close to the hotel. The young staff can only grow from strength to strength.

Is this really 5 star

Posted Jul 14, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: Staff were pleasant, quietness.
Cons: Full refurbishment, better staffing or lower there prices to suite the quality e.g this was a 3 star hotel 7 should have been 250-300 per night.
Hotel is aging Can't believe they rate this as 5 star. Service very slow & forgetful, had to remind them meals hadn't been delivered, waited over 30min for them to get my car. Breakfast was cold & again had to remind them we had ordered 2 hot drinks. As a business person who spends 150+ days per year staying in 4-5 star hotels I would not rate this as more than a poor 4 if that. Also had continuous black outs on the Saturday night, so we had to leave to get food inn addition the staff didn't real seem to know what was happening. Curtains falling down in room, shower nozzle leaked continuously. Value for money very very poor, early this year stayed in the new Hilton in Bangkok less than half the price impeccable service.
