Not a resort, but OK for short stay on budget.

Posted Feb 20, 2017
Pros: The territorial views and the pool area were very pretty, parking and wi-fi were free, and complimentary beverages were available all day.
Cons: Cover pool with a blanket at night! (Cheap way to keep the heat in.) Add protein to breakfast (yogurt?) Needs jacuzzi and keycards.
Location: Close to harbor, Kanapaki Beach, Marriott, LIhue town. Good if you want central location (about same length drive to north shore and Waimea).
We needed a reasonably priced overnight place and this did the job (though in Kauai, even "reasonably priced" places are too expensive). It's not on the beach and you have to drive through the shipping zone to get there, but once you're there the setting is nice--beautiful territorial view from our room and from the pool. The pool was too cold in February and there's no jacuzzi or poolside restroom. "Breakfast" is minimal (sliced fruit and toast or English muffins, beverages) and breakfast seating space is inadequate if the hotel is full. If you can't handle stairs, request a room on ground floor as there is no elevator. Microwave and fridge were pluses; good hot water and water pressure in tub/shower, pleasant-smelling soaps/shampoos, very old-school telephones in room, and they still use old-fashioned keys instead of key cards. Rooms were clean and reasonably tasteful. I'd stay there again for an overnighter or if I was planning to be "on the go" most of the time, but if you want a resort experience, this place isn't that. It's fine for what it is, though. Staff is friendly enough but if you get to the front desk when they're on the phone, they might ignore you for a while. Cancellation policy is a bit draconian. No on-site restaurant and you pretty much have to drive out for dinner.

Sweet, locally-owned hotel near airport

Posted Feb 20, 2017
Pros: The cleanliness, comfort, and the welcoming staff.
Cons: Had a little trouble with the stopper for the sink drain.
Location: Great casual breakfast at the Kalapaki Beach Hut! My husband loved his breakfast burger and my omelette was delist!
We chose this hotel because we were arriving on a late evening flight and did not want to drive all the way to Princeville. Our flight was delayed several hours, so we arrived at the hotel at 3:30 a.m. We had no difficulties finding the hotel, about a 10-minute drive from the airport. The late check-in instructions from the hotel staff were very clear. We enjoyed sitting on our ground-floor lanai with hotel coffee (good!) and soaking up the morning sun before checkout. The staff we met were all so kind and welcoming. The owners obviously work hard to maintain this older property. Note: Everywhere you go on Kauai, there are chickens and plenty of roosters (Thanks, Iniki). Just get over it, and enjoy them as part of the Island experience!

Loved this place

Posted Feb 18, 2017
Pros: Clean, low key
Cons: Different finish on wood floors that don't show stains.
Location: Restaurants, park, in middle of island as far as highway 50 goes.
Very enjoyable. It seems there are two kinds of people in the world. Those that like to stay at new places and those who don't. This place is not new but we loved it.

Only thing I didn't like was the breakfast. I don't eat wheat. So only thing I could eat was fruit (3 diff. Kinds - the same every day)

Posted Feb 13, 2017
Pros: location and price
Cons: breakfast needs improvement
Location: near airport, easy to access to many facilities
an economical inn close to beach and airport. a little bit old with inadequate facilities, but it's ok given its price.

Pleasant Hotel.

Posted Feb 6, 2017
Pros: Clean and well maintained Helpful staff
Cons: Replace window air conditioners which are noisy and irritating for light sleepers.
Location: Close to the airport and restaurants. Also close to water adventures.
Friendly, helpful staff and hotel is in excellent condition considering it was the first hotel on the island. So it has been completely remodeled.
