Beautiful grounds! Small bathroom!Posted Nov 24, 2015
Pros: The grounds were beautiful! It was centrally located.
Cons: Bathroom size
Location: Centrally located. Easy accessibility to Costco, Walmart, and other restaurants and shopping malls. Located 5 minutes away from the airport.
If you are planning to spend most of your time outdoors, this is a great choice for you. The pool area and beachfront were beautiful. The main problem with this hotel is the bathroom size. It was so small that it was uncomfortable to close the door as it was a tight squeeze. Dukes had good food and was within walking distance of the hotel. I enjoyed the local vendors that were allowed to set up their wares in one of the common areas. It made souvenir shopping an easy task!! Overall, it was a good hotel and we enjoyed our stay!

Stay somewhere else and save your moneyPosted Nov 22, 2015
Pros: Swimming Pool, close to the airport, beautiful lobby and garden
We pay for an ocean view room and spent a total of 7 nights here. The swimming pool is beautifully decorated & the lobby is also very well designed. It is located less than 10 minutes away from the airport with little to no noise from the airport traffic. Nevertheless, I will not choose to stay here again. (1) We pay for a room with ocean view. Yes, we did see the ocean from a distance away. However, we were put on the room to the far right side of the hotel. Half of the view is the attic of the hotel. Since we were tired from a long flight, we just put up with it. (2) the bed sheets do not smell good. It either smells like bleach or something else. My head turns every time my nose is on the pillow. (3) After a long exhausting flight to get here, the check in person redirect u to another table for "discount" deal while staying in the hotel. Great news! They offer money or reward point for a 90 minutes timeshare presentation. I explained that I didn't want to be rude but I was exhausted, she then told me to come back down and I'll thank her like other guests did. Smh..... (4) they charge a undisclosed $30 per night resort fee after the room was booked. At check out, my final bill showed an $8.33 charge that incurred on my first day here. I explained to the hotel staff that we were out and about on our first day here. He politely told me to wait 10 minutes so that they could retrieve the receipt for me to review. So what happened after wasting 10 minutes of my time? It was

For Couples Only-Beautiful views of pool and oceanPosted Nov 21, 2015
Pros: The grounds, pool and beach are beautiful. Valet, front desk and housekeeping staff very friendly. Upstairs Bar staff so so - didn't seem very happy.
Cons: More evening entertainment. Outdoor music and dancing. Pool side Luau. Music at the pool during the day. Could hear music at the pool at all.
Location: "Jack Harter" Helicopter tour was amazing. Kaua'I Backcountry Adventures Tubing was fun.Zip Lining, Ali'i Kayaking-water fall lunch & swimming
Diapointed in that hotel did not have entertainment for guests. Hula dancer and guitarist played only 1 afternoon/early evening by the pool for 30 min. Pool bar closed at 4:00PM, Restaraunt Bar opened at 4:00PM & closed at 10:00PM. Bar above was only open various times of the day, but not at night. Portofino Restaraunt - terrible food. Thursday evening dance club was for early 20's only. Absolutley nothing to do in the evening on this Island except cheesy bar around the corner with Karaoke. I feel when we spend this much money to vacation at an upscale hotel, they should provide entertainment for their guests.

Convenient and close to the airportPosted Nov 12, 2015
Pros: Convenient to airport.
We selected this hotel with a flight package. We got a bad location so we got to look out at a roof all week. The hotel had a very 80s feel to it. If I had to do it over again, I would have selected a different hotel.

Hotel is on the beach where you can swim and surf. Great views. Gigantic pool with 4 hot tubs. BBQ for guest use, well stocked shops. Excellent service. We were allowed to use the pool till closing after we checked out.

Beautiful property!Posted Nov 10, 2015
Pros: Great location; close to airport. The beauty and ambiance made for a truly relaxing vacation. Mahalo Kaua`i Marriott!
Cons: Sofa with pillows should be better maintained. The "fragrance" as you enter was weird and became nauseating - like a heavy duty floral air freshener.
Location: Close to the airport and lots of wonderful local eating places in Lihue and Kapaa. Easy drive to other towns.
The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The pool and beach are SO nice and though close to the airport, it is not in the path of the planes so it's quiet and feels secluded. The Aloha Spirit was alive and well from the front valet attendants, guest registrars (props to Kaneala), concierge, to our room attendant, Teresita. The lobby and rooms are set apart so you will do a good amount of walking but it's pleasant because of the beautiful plants, flowers, and koi pond. Cool, fruit-infused water at the front was very nice! Thanks! The view from the 8th floor is gorgeous! We had a pool view category room but it included a view of the beach because it's right behind the pool. I recommend asking for the highest floor available. The room was clean but the sofa with pillows were stained/soiled - yuck! Since we loved the view we overlooked the sofa and did not touch it. The bed was firm and comfortable. Down pillows were nice but did not work for me - too soft. We are Hawai`i residents and went to Kaua`i for a 2-night stay-cation staying at the Marriott for the first time. Each island is unique and we will return to the Marriott again.

A hotel with the view that you wish you could takePosted Oct 31, 2015
Pros: I would have to say that the service was the best thing of the hotel. I have to say that the Aloha spirit of all the service personal was wonderful.
Cons: I will have to say that the parking could improve. But I know that parking is hard. You photos share needs to be larger than 5 MB for one to use
The experience we had of the Marriott Resort in Kauai was of a wonderful place to rest before returning to the mainland. The service we had from the start to the goodbyes were of the best we had experienced. We will be returning next summer and make sure that our stay in the Marriott Resort will be of an extended stay for sure. The food was to our liking. The bed gave us the best sleeping experience. The sheets were to our standards and the best bed that gave me no problems. The front lobby night person was very helpful with a problem I had with heartburn, I was out of my tums and they were nice enough to help me with a supply of the tumms. The beach and it's sand was nice and the water was fantastic. Wow the pool was huge and clean, the pool side service was fast. The resort was a wonderful place to unwind on our end of the vacation journey. I am making sure that we mark our calendar for the summer coming.
