Booked an overnight at short notice. This hotel was perfect. We ate in the restaurant which was amazing. Staff were incredible. Breakfast was perfect!! A perfect stay in an incredible setting.
A lovely hotel let down by no hot water for the first evening and following morning. No one let us know until we asked after a cold shower, no sort of reduction on price offered. A little disappointing for this type of place.
My husband and I enjoyed five glorious nights at the Roxburghe and it exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed the area and everyone at the hotel went above and beyond to ensure our every comfort. The property is beautiful and so many wonderful areas to explore are a very close drive. My husband enjoyed the golf. We hope to return again next year.
Arrived on Friday about 5pm, staff were very friendly & helpful. Room was spacious, nice decor. Only complaint was that the bed seemed like 2 x singles joined to make a double as it had an uncomfortable Ridge in the middle. We had a meal from the a-la-carte menu which was lovely. We used the spa facility and was impressed with the facility & the masseuse. Lovely gardens for walks which we enjoyed. Had meal from the bar menu, club sandwich, which again was very nice. Breakfasts too were excellent with plenty of choices. All in all a nice venue, with plenty of facilities to use, excellent & helpful staff .....would definitely go back.
We had a wonderful trip to the Roxburghe hotel where every member of staff was well trained and very good at their jobs and who went the extra mile on several occasions to make our stay extra special. Definitely worth a visit for a special birthday or anniversary.
Beautiful and tastefully decorated for the festive period. All the staff were outstanding and everyone as lovely and helpful as the next. Will definitely be back.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Arrived early to attend local races but staff provided room to get changed and took our bags. Open fire in reception was warm and welcoming as was our entire stay. We were given a free upgrade to be aa junior suite with four poster bed and lovely proportions. Room service that evening prompt with great food. Breakfast was good quality ingredients, more than we could eat and served by polite friendly staff.
We stayed here for a family occasion, and it was perfect in every way. The food was exquisite, with a modern take on traditional dishes. The staff were first class, very professional and helpful. We stayed in the courtyard rooms, which were very clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel setting is very grand, and is an impressive sight when driving up the long drive. I'd thoroughly recommend this gem of a hotel to anyone
May be the most lovely hotel we have stayed in. Very helpful and friendly staff. The grounds are charming. Golf. Shooting. There is a lot to do. We loved staying here.
We enjoyed a very pleasant stay in this welcoming and comfortable hotel. Although the bedroom needed refurbishment the bed was very comfortable.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and the dinner in the Roux restaurant was very good.

Great stay
We stayed here as we were in Kelso for business. Staff were very friendly and helpful and as we were arriving very late, sorted out a lovely plate of sandwiches for us to have when we arrived. Hope to return soon.
Staff were friendly, welcoming and was especially impressed by the bar tenders knowledge on whisky and wine. Stayed in a junior suite, four poster bed was uncomfortable and felt the bathroom a touch shabby but very clean. Had dinner and breakfast - 10/10 on the food front.
Excellent, attentive staff. Beautiful, clean and well-maintained building. Great room - fantastic bath and shower, comfy bed, wonderful view. The food was incredible and well priced - a great dining experience. Wood, coal fires. Cosy bar. I honestly can't find anything to criticise about this place. Probably the best weekend break we've had.
An absolutely beautiful historic hotel. Amazing breakfast included in the rate. Great dinner the night of our stay. Would definitely like to return for another visit.
An excellent stay, a friendly and professional team of staff providing a quality experience. The food was outstanding and the cosy log fires gave the whole thing a great ambience
A lovely family weekend, very attentive helpful staff and a stunning location! Make sure you get your complimentary pass and visit Floors Castle in Kelso too!
Only down side was that spa was not opened on a Monday:-/
The Roxburghe is a special place. Moreover, it has special people. hats off to Harley who recognized a booking error I made. Two hats off for Dawn the charming day manager who made everything right. I will be back next year
Food and staff could not have been more attentive. All staff attentive and smiles all round. Log fire at entrance, which was very welcoming, however would like to have seen other fires in bar and lounge areas lit in the evenings, Only downside very hot towel rail which I burnt myself on. Able to switch off towel rail to save any further distress.
My wife and i hadn't staryed at this hotel for a few years. The last time we were there we thought it looked a little tired. The owners have clearly spent some serious money refurbishing it and it was very swish. The staff were very efficient and the evening meal was of a very high standard with excellent unobtrusive service. The menu is vey fairly priced and offers a wide range of choice. Breatfast was very relaxed and the "Full Scottish" will sort most people out for the day! In terms of room we had a 4 poster room which was spacious and comfortable. My only slight criticism is that is had potential to be a bit stuffy as. I could not open any of the windows in the room itself. However that is but a mere trifle-we will definately be coming back and. I will bring some friends and golf clubs next time! Finally I suspect that this is a hotel which is probably better for couples and older children than young families although it is well placed as a base for attractions in the. South of Scotland.
A random choice for a romantic weekend and we hit the jackpot. Great hotel, great staff and great food. Please try it you will not be disappointed ,we certainly will.
Lovely old building in beautiful landscape; the warmth of the open fires was matched only by the warmth of service. We'd planned to eat out on one of the evenings but the food was so good we ate in on all three…a great way to celebrate my husband's birthday. We'll be back!
It was really nice to stay this hotel, lobby, front, bar, sitting rooms, bed rooms, all are beautiful. But I would say, breakfast was not good, was not tasty.except for it all great
An old world Scottish feel with great food, pleasant staff and lovely surroundings made this a very enjoyable stay.
The decor is a traditional which suits the building and while the rooms are a bit tired, they are clean and the tiredness gives the place a lot of charm and character.
Great selection of whisked as well!
We stayed for one night as we had a business meeting the following day. Room was lovely, bed very comfortable and so good to have a lovely large bath and bathroom. Quality toiletries and even a tray for tea/coffee, something you don't often find in 'top' hotels - I have never understood why. We had an issue during dinner but was handled very well and much appreciated. We hope to be back very soon.
What a beautiful hotel in a ideal setting. We stayed there to go to The Open. The town of Kelso is beautiful. The food was wonderful. Only problem was the heat and no air con. Otherwise, we will definitely go back and play some golf.
The staff were delightful, helpful and polite. Our room was on the ground floor. The room was good with an extremely comfortable bed. It was slightly let down by the bathroom, I could only describe the roman blind and being in rags, it should be replaced as a priority. The food was fabulous, a fine dining experience. Breakfast was excellent, my kipper was very tasty. Very relaxing stay.
The hotel is utterly beautiful and so impressive to drive up to. The rooms are clean, very comfortable and well decorated, whilst the common rooms feel homely and warm. The grounds are bursting with activities (golf, fishing, you name it) but for the less adventurous, are great for a short stroll. The local town of Kelso has brilliant pubs and shops if you fancy eating out of the fine restaurant. The inclusive breakfast is a huge reason to return: a full Scottish breakfast that will save you the need to eat all day!
The suite was tired - upholstery with holes, living room not as comfortable as it should have been. Housekeeping late in the day and low standards.
Food pretentious and very disappointing.
Not nearly good enough for the large cost.
