Wonderful hotel near Alaska Sealife Center

Posted Feb 10, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Nice and quiet. Gave me a pass to the gym next door.
Location: We went for the wildlife viewing, and also visited the Sealife Center. Saw humpback wales and many species of birds on this trip.
Quick overnight trip to Seward and was looking for a nice hotel with reasonable rate.

Nice hotel, close to town and lots of history!

Pros: The History
Location: Bars, food and stores
Easy to get around and see all of Seward. The town isn't large and it easy to see everything

Greetings Bob, Glad that you enjoyed the history of the Hotel. The Historic Wing of the Hotel was built in 1905, and we have tried to keep the history and feel with some modernized upgrades. The Alaskan Wing of the hotel was build onto the Historic Wing in the Late 1980's, but you can sense the history of the Hotel throughout. Hope that you choose to stay with us again when you return to the Quaint town of Seward.

Second time around.

Posted Oct 27, 2016 on Orbitz
Location: In the heart of Seward and across from the Sea Life Center, the hotel is centrally located enough that a rental car wasn't needed.
A clean hotel with nice staff in a good location. The hotel is old, charming, and imperfect, but definitely a good value.

We loved the decor of the hotel lobby. All was good except for beds were too soft for us. As we were leaving the manager told us there are firmer beds available upon request.

Dear Guest, I am glad you loved our décor! Being a family owned and operated hotel gives us the freedom to decorate as we see fit for the holidays. If you have a chance to come back during the Christmas season our lobby turns into a winter wonderland! When it comes to our beds we do get quite a few compliments because of the style pillow-top we have but we understand some require a little firmer of bed and we love to accommodate this when requested. Thank you for choosing Hotel Seward Jed Wilde Manager

Historical Outside, Updated and Comfortable Inside

Posted Sep 28, 2016 on Hotels
We were a bit late in the season for most activities and shopping in Seward but you'd never know it at this hotel. It's historical but at the same time totally updated and extremely comfortable. That had to be the best bed I'd slept on in quite a while. Staff very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the charming lobby, the many historical photos and Alaskan artwork. A bit more money than I wanted to spend, but totally worth it.

Pros: convenience,staff
Cons: offering a complimentary breakfast

Staff was very nice, helpful & courteous. Upon our arrival, we needed to switch from the historic wing to the modern wing. Staff was very helpful getting this done. Our room was clean & comfortable.Enjoyed staying in the historic hotel. Was close & convenient to attractions. was located downtown convenient to restaurants & shopping.Highly recommend the ocean glacier & wildlife tour, & the Alaska Sea Life Center.

Dear Guest, Very Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay! We have thought about having a complimentary breakfast in the past but with having our small in-house restaurant we simply do not have the room in the hotel to provide a continental breakfast. Hope your travels bring you back to us, Jed Wilde Manager
