Owner was the opposite of hospitable at checkout
The stay began with normal check in & the room was marginal but priced appropriately so fair game early. However checkout was 11 a.m. & at 11:04 my son & I awoke to what sounded like a barrage of door break in attempts...I felt like Richard Sherman's father in law for a few brief moments. I opened the door mere seconds after the noise stopped to find no one in sight. I left the door opened & quickly began packing & informed my son we were a few minutes past our check out time & I hurriedly gathered things together as a stern female voice asked if we were extending our stay or checking out. I answered normally & apologized for the barely qualified tardiness. She just frowned & walked away. Its important to note that the facilities as a whole were in disrepair & although I95 was it's front yard , had no more than 5-7 rooms rented. I was quick to tell my son of the rudeness & gracelessness with which we were being treated. There is usually, in my experience, a protocol of notification that check out time has passed & the first one is a polite phone call or repeated calls within a 15 minute grace period. Then polite knocks that may rise in urgency if gone unresponsive. The last wld be knocks with staff opening the door for a F2F notification of intent from guests. Apparently this owner & his family went straight to the fire alarm stage of notification after only 4/5 minutes.One must also keep in mind that we had been quiet, orderly guests that hotels at this level should cherish.

Expect an additional $60 deposit to be held until checkout. They will check room before returning the next morning and only after 9:00 am so don’t plan on getting on the early. Plus VERY rude about the whole situation. Never again

It was not a good stay. Firstly the door was not sound proof so trying to sleep was not good. The sheets weren’t changed and I felt as if I was getting bit in the morning. The bed was comfortable but like I said they didn’t change the sheets. Disgusting. Guy was nice at counter and refunded my 2nd night because I was not gonna stay 2 nights

Worst Red Roof
Room was clean. No pool as described. Front desk person not so friendly. The AC was so loud that you couldn't even hear the semi trucks parked on the side road with their AC running. Pillows were pretty much non existent. Not sure why there was a $50 deposit when I had already paid for this crappy room. I will not be a returning customer. Only plus was it was near I95 and convenient. Their website advertises free coffee in lobby, there is no coffee, but a couple packs in the room. No common area and their wifi is pretty much non existent also. No towel racks in the bathroom.

It was a okay stay just for a one night stay it was clean but only thing was fridge dose not work and the thing that upset me was the $50 deposit which I was not told why and it doesn’t say anything about it

The shower had black mold in it. The soap was watered down. The toilet was broke and could move there was mold on the walls in the rest of the room. The guy that was working the third shift was very disrespectful. The room also smelled.

Burn holes on the bed, a lot of dirt and crumbs under bed when I lifted to check for bugs, the guy who checked me out” conveniently” forgot to give me my cash deposit back when I left so I had to drive an hour back out of my way to come get it. Also, I had to wait like 20 minutes to check in because there was a sign on the door, so after about 10 minutes called the motel number and the guy answered and basically hung up on me. When I said how much longer is there going to be and he came walking from around the corner and gave me attitude and threw his hands up and said “I’m right around the corner.” Like I was supposed to know that lol oh, and also the toilet in the room was leaking. I didn’t ask to change rooms because he told me if that was the only room that was clean at the moment I so I know I would’ve had to of packed all my stuff back up and waited God knows how long for another room to open up overall I would give it 1.5 stars out of 50 mainly because the beds were pretty comfortable and the air condition worked great. But needless to say, I won’t be staying there again when I am in Kenly. I wouldn’t stay there if it was $10 a night.

Absolutely Terrible!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! Owner Parish runs it like his own personal clin, not a business. I requested 2 Clean Washcloths and towels, and was met with resistance befitting a criminal. I was eventually ask to leave(with my 4 young sons, at 2am, after driving 8 hours). Police were called and our reservation was still canceled.
