earles court

Posted Oct 31, 2017
Pros: only the area
Cons: It is not a hotel im afraid. Do we rely present this as a hotel to visiting tourists.
Location: Plenty of restaurants with a good choice of places to eat.
The room was very sparse and there was no TV and no hot drink facilities .It was basically a "flop house" so you really just got a bed. The room was really hot and the radiator could not be turned off. I was told to open the window but it only opened about 4 inch so did no good at all. The room temp was just ridiculously hot .I was told that the towels were not changed every day so put them on the radiator to dry. Plenty of rules regarding not putting towels on the floor or furniture along with your luggage. Certainly will not recommend this place to my friends.

Dear sir or madam, this has been hotel since before you were born, hence the name hotel, there were no other definition at that time! And so has remained. as for the gadget that we do not have and will not have you should read before you book in another flop house.

Nice hotel, with friendly, helpful owners

Posted Oct 22, 2017
We enjoyed our stay at the Merlyn Court Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, however we would have loved tea and coffee making facilities. The room was warm and the shower was beautifully hot, if slightly shabby. The free breakfast was basic but fine and we were offered more tea, coffee and toast regularly. The owners were friendly and helpful and the hotel certainly had a family run feeling to it. We felt that overall the hotel was good value for money and would happily stay again.

Merlyn Hotel is higly recommendable to travellers from different walks of life. It's accessible to all amenities especially the London Underground & buses. Different concessions are 5 minute walk from Merlyn. The rooms are kept clean and orderly and the staff is exceptional! Come to Merlyn Hotel and feel the Spirit of London!

Convenient location

Convenient location. Calls itself a bed and breakfast however breakfast is very slim. Only toast and jam with coffee or tea Not even peanut butter

Pros: Friendly owner, clean comfortable room & bathroom, centrally located.
Cons: Maybe add orange juice (for those who don't drink coffee/tea and supply jam & honey for the toast provided at breakfast instead of just marmalade.
Location: The premises is located around the corner from the train station, shops, restaurants, pubs, massage & many more.
We were greeted by a lovely lady who was extremely willing to do anything to make our stay comfortable. There is a very simple breakfast of toast, marmalade & coffee/tea; however guests are allowed to bring their own cereals and other breakfast products (yoghurt, orange juice, fruit) which can be stored in the hotel's fridge. It is located around the corner from Earls Court Road and the railway station making it a short walk home after shopping or dining. We were told that the internet may not work within the room but we did have access on several occasions. We stayed for 5 nights & are really glad we did.

thank you for your review, the wi-fi sevice is limited to reception area, some are able to get from the room on mobile. we do help people to store some extra for breakfast though they are not allowed to enter the kitchen, it worth to mention this.hope to see you in the future.

Good budget option for Kensington

Posted Sep 14, 2017
Hotel decor is a little tired, but friendly staff, room was clean. Shower had hot water and surprisingly good pressure. All in all a good value place for a short stay near South Kensington.

we are aware of the decor is passed, but still has a good charm, we hope to improve in the future.

Disappointed overall

Posted Aug 13, 2017 on Hotels
The free breakfast consists of coffee or tea and toast with butter and marmalade. Nothing else period. If I had known this I would not have stayed here. Now others will know and act accordingly. It is 5-10 minutes to Earl's Court where there are many food options. There are also no tea or coffee facilities in the room like almost every other hotel, b&b, or rooming house. My advice is that one can do better for the money.

Sure people can choose a better offer. if i put all what people want i would be either a bad 4 star B&B or i should be a boutique hotel with much higher price. tea or coffee facilities create a great deal of mess and damage and healthy and safety. L

Don't do it

Posted Aug 3, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything can be improved.
Location: Easy walk to/from tube, Kennsington & Westminster. Restaurants and shops nearby.
Horrible. This hotel was not good at all. Upon lugging our suitcases up five flights of stairs, past someone singing in the communal shower, we were almost cried when we opened the door and saw the room. The room smelled badly, the bedding was probably 20 years old. The mattresses sagged. Zip ties held the beds together. The rug was worn. There was mold in the shower. only half a roll of toilet paper. WiFi did not work in room. This was advertised as a budget minded hotel, however it was disgusting! After finding a restaurant close by with WiFi, the kids started crying and saying how they were afraid to stay there. We found another hotel & ended up staying a block away for only $20 more a night at a much nicer hotel. Went back to check out and was not refunded our money from cranky owner.

We have been running since 1949, the building is old but we make great effort to keep this B&B going, we keep is simple and affordable, for some people is charming for some is disgusting but that's ok too.

Basic accommodation close to underground

Posted Aug 1, 2017 on Hotels
Exceptional location (easy walk to Earl's Court station - excellent access to central London & Heathrow) at a much better price than other hotels in the same area. Only tea / coffee & toast for breakfast, but it's enough to get you through to lunch. WiFi only near office and during office hours. Beds very firm, but got a good sleep anyway. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating.

No frills but nice

No wifi in the rooms, hard bed, and limited front desk hours; but the staff are lovely, the rooms are clean, and the location is awesome. Priced appropriately.

thank you for your feed back , we have our reason not to have wi-fi in all rooms, and it is well accepted by the majority of our costumers, the beds must be firm.thank you for your feed back.
