Room comfort adequate for price range. Pub grub tasty and good value. Wi-fi connection needs an upgrade.

No food after 10pmPosted Jun 29, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel was nice enough, however not impressed arriving at 10pm after a long day to be told that there was no food or drink to be offered untill morning, but to try the Tesco Express down the road. Get real and live in 2015 people!!

OK, but eat elsewherePosted May 31, 2015 on Hotels
For working away it was fine, would not eat there through choice, but breakfast was OK. The room was clean and functional. Would not take my other half here for a weekend away, but served it purpose.

Good but Food a Let DownPosted Feb 17, 2015 on Hotels
First inpressions were good. The outside of the hotel looked impressive, location on a main busy road had its drawbacks but it was set well back from the road. The Receptionist was friendly & helpful. The front of house & corridors were clean tidy and the decor was in good condition. The room was as expected. What let it down was the dining. We had to pass through a wedding reception to get to the dining area and then waited for an hour to be served. When we were eating two out of three tables sent a meal back. The third complained but did not send it back. The waitress was very good and tried to keep us happy but I believe that the wedding party was taking up all the available resource. Perhaps better labour planning would have improved things. Breakfast was a bit dissapointing in that the food was obviously economy and i could not eat the sausage. Overnight, at midnight & 5am we were woken by the banging of the central heating system. On the plus side, the staff were a credit to the hotel. Everyone we came in contact with was courteous and helpful. If the hotel spent a little more on the food budget and made sure everything came out of the kitchen in an acceptable condition I believe they will be on to a winner.

Cheap and cheerful for the pricePosted Oct 26, 2014
This hotel is fairly basic but staff friendly enough and clean . Paying just over £50 for an online deal inc breakfast is an absolute bargain

A lovely hotelPosted Oct 10, 2014 on Hotels
We enjoyed this hotel, especially the staff attentiveness. No lift was a big problem for us elderly folks to get our luggage to the 4th floor. Meals were enjoyable, and mostly well presented. A bit of a problem with the exterior light shining in our room at night, keeping my husband awake, but solved the following night with blankets on the window... A nice place to stay, and we stayed for five nights

if not fit,4th floor is a hard climbPosted Oct 4, 2014 on Hotels
We were a party of 4 visiting relatives nearby., for 3 nights. Our rooms were on the 4th floor..no lift(elevator) was available, and required us to carry our bags up the many flights of stairs.. lovely looking staircase and clean, but long! For our visit the following week, we booked the ground floor for the 2 nights, but then were kept awake by the recycling outside light(finally solved by hanging 2 blankets on the large and very high windows). I would recommend this Hotel, with the warning of lack of lifts.!!
