Friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed our overnight stay. Good breakfast. Convenient for Maidstone hospital. Room pleasant but no wardrobe or other clothes hanging space . No bedside tables.

Independent hotel on main London Road, staff excellent lobby and downstairs nice, suite bedroom poor, windows not double glazed hence traffic noise, no blackout curtains hence security lights being on all night made the room bright and like daytime, no sound insulation hence could hear clearly room next to me talking, coughing, tv and all night snoring meaning no sleep. Not the best but has potential.

Friendly and helpful staff, the room was lovely and the bathroom was a great size. The lounge and the restaurant area is very clean and modern with a traditional element. Would definitely stay again

One Night Stay -
Positives: Good value, friendly staff, bar open until late, ironing board in room, good location. Negatives: paid up front but on checking in hotel policy is to take your bank card and make a £1 transaction on it - odd. When I asked why as I had already paid in full on line they said it was ‘in case of damages’. I found this dubious and marginally offensive that they distrust professional guests. Also by giving your card details they could then take any payment they wish on site. I didn’t feel comfortable with this from a security point of view and wouldn’t stay again on principle.

The staff here were really lovely and very helpful. We were only staying in the area as we had family nearby. Lovely seating area around reception and the breakfast was really good

Disappointing stay
I believe this hotel has recently been taken over and new owners still finding their feet. First room offered was incredibly basic and had old 1940s furniture. Changed room slight improvement. Staff helpful. Breakfast free but poor quality

Excellent value for money and very helpful staff
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good use of technology to check in. Free car park upon registration. Very clean bedroom with all basic facilities - heating readily adjustable. Staff were extremely helpful and supplied us with iPhone charger (forgotten). We had dinner at the hotel. Pub style food menu at a very competitive price. Downstairs premises decorated with taste throughout. Great choice for breakfast.

Very odd hotel!!!
A very odd hotel!!! From the outside you expect a nice almost posh hotel - inside very different - you step straight into the bar area that is bland with no character At dinner they had the radio on playing techno rave music. We had to ask for menus after sitting there for a good 15 minutes. The menu in itself was different - lamb shank with pilau rice and nan bread. We opted for good old sausage and mash with gravy which was very nice but was sprinkled with dry herbs? Breakfast was nice We were in a ‘suite’ Room 120 - a strange mix of furniture, 4 poster bed which was comfortable, one 80’s looking pattern curtain that hung from the middle of the window and didn’t reach either side so the light from the car park came in and shone on the mirror all night. The windows were painted shut so you couldn’t get any fresh air in. It had a light wood effect wardrobe with no doors that was a flatpack totally out of keeping with the dark wood four poster bed. The shower was more of a light sprinkling of water, and the selection of toiletries consisted of a body cream, conditioner and a mini bar of soap! The bar lounge area was nice and to be honest it looked like the hotel may potentially being renovated as all areas didn’t seem in keeping to one another. All in all a bit of an odd mix and vibe going on and not particularly worth the money! Will not use again

My room was at rear of property and very quiet. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Very good buffet breakfast and packed lunches were available. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the room was very warm and no way of turning heat down but apparently the problem is being dealt with, fans were provided though

The hotel is in need of a massive update, very dated rooms with creaky floors. Our room was a decent size and could be really nice if it was given an update. The bathroom was clean but again everything felt quite old, except the towels, which were clean and looked new. The bathroom had a smell of drains too and the shower wasn’t the most powerful. The room had a huge bed with clean bedding, but there’s zero air-con in the rooms, there was a fan provided but it didn’t do the same job as air-con does. Carpets in the communal areas needed a good clean as they had muddy footprints. Staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. Check in was a bit chaotic and they tell you to use the self service but then someone has to come and help anyway, so wasn’t sure what the point was in that. We only stayed for one night and we didn’t spend much time in the room but the small amount of time was more than enough and I wouldn’t return in a hurry. For anyone needing to get ready there the rooms feel quite dark so wouldn’t recommend it. Could be a decent hotel but would say below average at present.
