Trying to be something its not.

Posted Apr 29, 2017
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Owners, outside and rooms.
Location: Wider location was fine.
Over fussy owners trying too hard to be witty and failing miserably. Their jokes may have been funny in the 70's but the world has moved on and left sexist comments behind. We had booked two nights but I took ill on the first evening so couldn't stay. It was like getting blood out of a stone getting the money back for the second night despite Expedia telling them to reimbuse us (we had paid cash - big mistake we'll never make again). We finally managed it but the text messages from the owner left a great deal to be desired. The accommodation was clean but despite being told it had just been refurbished I thought it needed doing again by someone who had some interior design talent, even a tiny bit would do. And its been a long time since I've seen someone get so excited and wax lyrical about their shower head proving that there's nowt as strange as folk. The outside had a lot of overgrown vegetation so if you have asthma or allergies save yourself an attack and don't go. In fact even if you haven't, don't go. There are more and better in the surrounding areas.
Comment from Hotel Management

We are a motel. We do have a duty of care towards our guests which we take very seriously. You were sick when you arrived; loud raucous coughing, spluttering, unable to breathe properly. We were concerned for your well-being (you described our behaviour as over fussy). We believed you should have been visiting a doctor or hospital not checking-in to a motel. You assured us that you were OK. When we showed you to your spa studio, you made a comment about there not being a Shower Curtain “Just see how much mess I can make.”; we found your attitude very disconcerting. Later, you advised us that you were leaving. Brian assured us profusely that this was not a reflection of the accommodation provided but that you had health issues. We agreed to refund your second night's accommodation (because we felt sorry for you) but requested Brian to contact Expedia asap on Saturday, so that the studio would become available online. On Sunday afternoon, we contacted Expedia directly and spent over an hour trying to get official notification of the date change which we finally received at 16:59; allowing us to release your room but leaving us with virtually no opportunity to on-sell it. And yet still we refunded your Sunday's accommodation fee which we were under no obligation to do. Regarding our fixtures, fittings, furnishings, every item is of excellent top quality, we have forwarded your diatribe to our interior design company for their consideration. Most guests admire the extensive gardens and foliage that provide a quiet, secluded, private environment, but there’s that one in a hundred who prefers tarmac and concrete! Jokes aside we aim to give the arriving guest a friendly and hospitable welcome, particularly after a tiring journey. Most guests appreciate the warm welcome and enjoy some friendly banter, we are very sorry that you did not. Alan & Andrea

A little gem

Posted Mar 16, 2017 on Hotels
An amazing place to stay. Located out of town in sub-tropical forest. The owners made us very welcome and offered a glass of wine and cookies. Our cottage had been recently decorated throughout and was very comfortable. All the opening windows had fine mesh to keep the critters at bay but allowing ventilation. We stayed for two nights. Thoroughly recommended.

Peaceful Cabin close to Township

Posted Jan 19, 2017
From the warm and friendly greeting upon on arrival, everything about our stay was fantastic. Very clean self contained cabins, lovely well maintained pool, peaceful location. We stayed 8 nights with a 10 month old baby and would have no hesitation in returning or recommending.
