Great ViewPosted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Everything, Great View, Really nice Grounds, Wonderful room and staff.
Cons: Could use some updating in places.
Location: Ring Of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula.
Room was large and very clean, the view was wonderful, and the grounds well kept. The location was perfect. We dined in the bar two nights and the food was very good. The hotel and the Bar staff were great. We did not dine in the restaurant, we were out late with all there is in the area to do. In the evenings (Sunset at 10:30) we watched Deer and geese outside our room. Highly Recommend this property.

We were there on honeymoon for a 2 night stay. the staff were so attentive, the setting beautiful, the room spotless and the food delicious. Deer grazing outside our room was a bonus. A spectacular stay.

Lovely place!Posted Jun 14, 2015 on Hotels
Fantastic hotel in a lovely setting! Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we awoke to views of the lake, the ruin next to the lake, and red deer drinking from the lake. I would live there if I could! The breakfast was great, although this was the only hotel we stayed in during our trip to Ireland that didn't include breakfast.

Spent two days in this refined and peaceful oasis in the midst ps bustling tourist Mecca. Can't wait to book for a longer stay.

Beautiful, historic, luxurious hotelPosted May 29, 2015
The Lake Hotel is one of the very best in Killarney. Onsite restaurant/pub, friendly and helpful staff, historic and old fashioned, clean, well maintenanced, and the view cannot be beat. Perfect location on the fringe of the main town center and within the Killarney National Park. Cheap cab rides to town. Excellent food and drinks for both breakfast and dinner. Evening entertainment in the bar lounge was very nice. Fun ruins to visit just outside of the restaurant. Swans in the lake, deer in the forest, views of the lake and mountains. Best hotel we stayed in while in Ireland. NOTE: We were not travelling with kiddos, but we did notice a sign placed outside the restaurant saying they only cater to children for a 45 min window from somewhere around 6-7pm.

Nice hotel with a beautiful viewPosted May 26, 2015
Pros: The view was great. This hotel is close to everything, but you feel that you are in your old little world.
Location: The tour of Mucross House and Gardens was fun and interesting. The Ring of Kerry is a must do, but do it early before the buses.
This hotel was one of the highlights on our recent trip to Ireland! The view from the rooms is second to none. It was so relaxing that we just stayed at the hotel one day to decompress. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone doing the Ring of Kerry. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer.

Great place to stayPosted May 21, 2015 on Hotels
We loved the hotel. The people were friendly and the place was wonderful. We planned to stay only two nights and ended up extending to three. The only complaint is that they need new mattresses! I still slept well as it was so peaceful and quiet, but you can tell they are old and sort of saggy. I called the front desk and they said that all the rooms had the same mattresses - so it must be getting close to replacement time. The hotel has a funky feel to it. It is not brand new, but this adds to the charm. The views are amazing. We did not eat in the dining room except for breakfast which was very good. The dining room seemed to cater to the tour bus crowd. We did have a wonderful meal in the bar restaurant. The location is outside of town by about a mile or so, but right next to the forest area- we prefer nature to crowds. We rode bikes all around and loved it.
