The location of this hotel is unparalleled. It has some of the most magnificent views I’ve ever seen. It was super convenient to walk to Wicklow National Park, the two restaurants and bar were fantastic. They even had live music and the staff were eager to please, very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and the staff accommodated my food sensitivities without issue. We will definitely be coming back to The Lake Hotel—just lovely.

The hotels property is a picturesque landscape. The rooms are decent sized and very comfortable. Honestly this is my favorite hotel in Ireland. Don’t pass on this hotel.

A lovely property with a great view of the lakes! The bistro and breakfast food was very tasty as well. Easy walkable access to the national park (10 min) and to town (40 min).

Spacious room with a wonderful view of the lake and the mountains . It was calming to wake up and notice the landscape. The breakfast included every one ‘s favorites with a great selection to chose from. Great starting point for the National Park, the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. I would definitely return if I find myself in the area again.

Beautiful hotel and property on the national park, lovely to sit and enjoy the grounds or walk/rent a bike (outside hotel). They made it easy to store the bikes for us since we arrived and rented late. The restaurant was so so, the food average (catering to N. American I believe) and the service in the restaurant (to be fair was busy) was not very good. The live music in the bar at the end of the night was lovely.

The Lake Hotel's staff are simply amazing. The entire hotel feels somewhat magical - there is history all over the interior, and the exterior has such majestic views that it's hard to compare with anywhere else I've been. We had an excellent trip and wish we could have stayed even longer.

Best property in Ireland- hands down
This past October, my husband and I traveled on our first-ever trip to Ireland to celebrate 30 years of marriage. We had a wonderful trip and can't wait to return. Nearly every place we stayed was very good, but the standout gem of the trip was hands-down The Lake Hotel in Killarney in County Kerry. This charming and magical place was by far our favorite lodging, for so many reasons. The grounds of the property, as you turn into the driveway, are immaculate and they are the first hint you are someplace truly special. The grounds have plenty to enjoy and explore, including scenic views & wildlife. Lough Leane and the castle ruins at the edge of the lake provide some of the most stunning vistas and views of the mountains beyond Lough Leane. Sitting in The Lakeside Bistro bar and restaurant watching rain storms blow in over the lake from the mountains was better than can be described. Really, who needs TV or entertainment when surrounded by such beauty? Every meal, (and every perfectly poured pint of Guinness!) we enjoyed during our stay was excellent and noteworthy. The breakfasts in The Castlelough Restaurant were perfection too, with attentive staff & delicious food. Large clean rooms, great food, wonderful staff. Make sure you spend at least 2-3 days here.

Couldn’t say enough good things about the property and especially the hotel team. The location, surrounding grounds and views are spectacular. We had hoped for some up close opportunities to photograph the deer - and we did. Our upgraded guest room was fantastic and provided ample space to sleep, relax, enjoy room service dining comfortably and take in the views from our balcony. Both breakfasts and in room dining dinners were excellent with the service staff engaging and polite. The hotel bar was well stocked and the team made perfect recommendations for our cocktails. Our sincere gratitude goes out to the welcoming guest service agent for her empathy upon our arrival. We had experienced a tragic incident earlier in the day in Ballybunion and she did a wonderful job to make us feel welcome and cared for. Thank you.

The staff and location of this property was great. I was offered an upgraded room with a lake view and jacuzzi tub but the jacuzzi didn’t work and the view overlooks the roof of the restaurant- not exactly what I hoped but still a nice thought.

I stayed at The Lake Hotel for 4 nights in September 2023 and had a fantastic stay. The hotel is perfectly located on the coast of glorious Loch Leane with views of the lough and The Reeks that can't be beat. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the property clean and cheerful. My room was quiet, the hot water plentiful and my bed comfortable. The hotel restaurant and bar are topshelf as well. There was no incentive to head to Killarney for meals as the restaurants had a diverse enough menu with each meal I had very well prepared. This was my 4th visit to Killarney and if (when!) I return I hope to stay at The Lake Hotel again. A wonderful spot in a priceless location.

The view of the lake and small castle ruins from the dining room is spectacular! One can sit in the lounge area, read the paper and enjoy a cup of tea and enjoy the view of the back of the hotel. Although our room faced the front of the hotel, it was nonetheless a large, wonderful room with a large jacuzzi and a separate, fabulous shower area. Breakfast was buffet style, but filled with an assortment of hot foods, breads, and pastries in addition to the dishes which could be ordered from the menu. In short, The Lake Hotel is an experience that simply must be enjoyed on every trip to Ireland.

A beautiful hotel just outside Killarney. The lake is stunning, and the hotel has very good food, particularly in the formal restaurant. There were a number of convenient public areas. The staff was exceptionally nice.
