Malton ReviewPosted Sep 16, 2015
Pros: Everything was excellent at the Malton.
Cons: The check in person should be more real life human and less programmed robotic. She acted like she had rehearsed responsed answers for every question.
Location: The location is excellent. I have stayed at the Malton numerous nights and will always continue to return.
Spent a relaxing three days at the Malton. The Malton is a superb hotel.

Nice hotel close to train station and city center.Posted Aug 29, 2015
Enjoyed our stay. We took all day tours out of Killarney and did not get to use all of the facilities at the hotel. It would have been good to have an additional day at the hotel.

Good hotel in convenient locationPosted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: The room was very spacious and well appointed. The bathroom too was spacious. The location was good and and we had nice views over the gardens.
Cons: Not really
Location: Well positioned for the attractions around Killarney , the Ring of Kerry as well as the Main Street shops and restaurants.
We were upgraded to one of the best suites in the hotel so made our stay more comfortable.

Nice hotel, walking distance to center of townPosted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: The location, the front desk and all staff was very nice and helpful. Great hotel for families, couples and singles.
Cons: The breakfast was a little pricey, 15 euros to order off menu and 10 euro for the continental breakfast which has many choices, we paid less in Dublin
Location: The location was perfect, right in the middle of town and across from the train station.
Our experience was very positive and would stay there again.

Great Location with Below Par Service and No A/CPosted Jul 5, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel is in excellent location and exterior exudes class and old world charm. Public areas are charming and comfortable but something is not quite right in the ambiance - maybe too stuffy. Property is transitioning and needs TLC in hallways and rooms. No bellman at front door so had to drag luggage up the steps to hotel. Check in was laborious considering no one else checking in when we arrived. Jr. Suite was large, bathroom roomy with double sink, full size tub and tiny shower which seemed to be an afterthought. Pillows were awful with no option of firm pillows ... unacceptable in a property in this price range. Wife developed crooked neck the first night which lasted the remainder of the trip. NO A/C. Room was stuffy, hot and opening windows meant loud noise until after 11 PM from carnival adjacent to hotel. Two horrible nights with fan blowing hot air on us. Below par service for a property of this price. Examples - No shampoo first night. Asked for spring water instead of sparkling. Advised no spring water as they had run out? Bar was nice/cozy but Fish & Chips not fresh and other meal was totally forgettable ... as in, I actually can not remember what it was. Service sub-par for this type of accommodation. When planning trip we had envisioned this property as the highlight - genuinely disappointed - would look for another option next time.

Comes highly recommended.Posted Jul 4, 2015
Pros: Classy, beautifully appointed hotel. Great staff and great amenities.
Cons: More t.v. channels would be good, but we were not there to watch television, so a minor quibble.
Location: Right in the centre of Killarney and within walking distance of the shops, bars and restaurants.
We spent three nights here as part our 30th wedding anniversary trip to Ireland. We were given an upgrade to a Junior Suite as I had told the hotel this was the reason for our stay. What a wonderful surprise! The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Our room overlooked the gardens, which were delightful. On the evening of our anniversary we dined at the lovely Garden Room Restaurant. The staff had obviously been informed of the event and all congratulated us. We were also given a "special" dessert. We had a fabulous, unhurried dining experience with the most delicious food and service. I can certainly recommend this hotel if planning a trip to Killarney.
