Building and decor are a bit tired. Staff were great and welcoming. Bed was comfortable. Only real downside was very noisy plumbing, every time some flushed or ran a tap the pipes made quite a lot of noise for quite sometime. This was not really a huge problem until neighbouring rooms decided to have a shower etc at 6am

Property was very tired and some areas are in disrepair. Although there are lifts to each floor there are rooms at half floor level which still involves negotiating 2 sets of stairs. Assistance with bags started at reception and ended at reception this still leaves you to negotiate a very bumpy ramp or stairs to get to the car park in my case this took 3 trips backwards and forwards. It took 6 phone calls with different members of staff with me eventually having to take my phone down to show the staff my bank account before they believed I had made a second successful attempt at payment as first was declined requesting I inserted my card. During the first call I was told my card had been declined and was asked if I wished the bill to be put on my room, I explained what had happened and the was "do you wish this amount added to your room bill as your card was declined." Not great for customer relations. The person who made the mistake was very apologetic but this was too little too late. I will certainly not return.

The public foyer and dining are beautiful, however we were directed out the back of the hotel, across the carport and into a back building of very tired and rundown rooms. The carpet was so frayed it was a safety issue waiting to happen, the lifts don’t work and the rooms’ walls are paper thin. The hotel pool was tired and uninviting with a complicated electric key and sign in process. As was the breakfast process. We will not be returning to this hotel.

The room/bathroom although traditional in decor had everything you could need. Good breakfast warm plates Unfortunately carpark was full so had to pay at one next door

We were in the annexe! Had to go outside the Hotel to get to your room! It was very outdated & the lifts didn’t work! We weren’t told where to go, just told we had to go outside into the car park to get to our room! No lifts working!

The hotel has much history and its grandeur can still be seen. The room was clean, although the furniture and decor were dated, it added to the character. The staff were very good and overall we enjoyed our stay.
