Gilbert's Resort

The desk staff is angry and does not seem like she wants to be there. The property is not actually in the city. You will need to cross the bridge. The property itself is severely outdated but the rooms are nice just do not expect a new balcony. The continental breakfast is the worst we’ve ever seen. All in all if the room is cheap and your just using it as a place to sleep and store things it’s fine. It is not a destination by any means.

The view was excellent. The room was stark and yet clean and modernized. The food was very good at the bar and the bartenders were excellent even though they tried to close earlier than advertised most nights. We like to drink so that was a challenge. The breakfast was horrid. Skip that at all costs. The parking lot was always wet and muddy. I was told it was a tidal situation and one out of their control, but first impressions are important and it made the place appear dumpy.
