Great location near everything but far enough to be slightly more quiet. Great pool area. Charming and spacious rooms. Beautiful views from balcony and pool. Street and hallway noise is a problem. Some staff were not informed enough to be helpful booking activities. Bar tender at pool didn't make what I ordered and needed to keep looking at recipe. Continental breakfast was good but nothing special. overall very happy.

Southernmost House--Oasis in Heart of Key West

Posted Aug 20, 2017
Pros: Historic house, wonderful room overlooking the infinity pool & gorgeous ocean! Wrap around porches, free, yummy breakfast. Super staff
Cons: The building is old (aka no handicap access/steep stairs), but updated well. Any minor problems (e.g. light bulb; safe) were quickly addressed.
Location: Easy access to attractions/shopping/restaurants on Duval St, Combined serene ocean location with walk-able access to nearly all of old town K. West
Our stay at Southernmost House was most memorable. From the moment we got there, they made us feel welcome and special. Loved it! The staff was VERY responsive and friendly. The room, bedding, bath were superb. We looked out at the beautiful pool & ocean. Little did we know when booking, but we had chosen the 3rd most storied building in Key West. So much history in this old house--many famous visitors and legendary events. And it is situated on what is actually the southernmost point of the USA. The onsite free breakfast was delicious and very convenient, as was the location at the end of Key West's busiest area, Duval Street. We were able to walk nearly everywhere, and the hop on hop off trolley stop was only 1 block away. No need for a car.

Epic!

Easily the swankiest place I've ever stayed in- stylish, convenient, comfortable, and friendly. Staff had great things to say about the owner, so it's nice to know I'm supporting a nice guy!

Hotel charged extra for everything.

Posted Jul 4, 2017
Cons: The rooms are so expensive, why charge extra for the parking? If breakfast is included, why sneak it in as a convenience charge?
Hotel charged extra for everything from parking to breakfast buffet (that supposedly was included but was then listed as a convenience charge. A lot of people didn't eat breakfast, where they still charged? We will never book this place again.

Very, very disappointed

Posted May 12, 2017
Cons: Staff, don't let outsiders use the facilities, fix the vents in the rooms so air flows more consistently, update the bathrooms
My husband and I planned a 2-night visit to help celebrate our wedding anniversary and were very much looking forward to our stay as we'd read many excellent reviews. Immediately after checking in we decided to relax by the pool and ocean. It's not a large space at all and there was a group of about 8 very young women (maybe 19/20 years old) next to our chairs talking and laughing and playing music incredibly loudly and just being rude. I was a little confused how this group was affording to stay at the hotel and my husband mentioned there was a sign out front of the hotel inviting people to come and enjoy the PUBLIC beach-front bar. So either these girls were taking advantage of this or were connected with people working at the hotel, but either way I felt incredibly frustrated that we had paid a LOT of money to stay here and anyone was welcome off the street to share this small space. By the way, not an isolated event; the next day others showed up and did the same thing! As for the included continental breakfast (that you pay for in fees), the hard boiled eggs were literally hard and rubbery, and the pastries inedible. If you didn't get to breakfast within the first hour, everything was basically gone and they don't restock. We found the staff off-putting our entire stay and borderline rude! The airflow in our room was odd so it was always freezing by the door and hot by the bed. I have already told friends and family to avoid this hotel. It is overpriced with bad service!

Quaint and quiet stay

Posted Apr 11, 2017 on Hotels
We were greeted with kindness and hospitality even though we checked in very late. Because we were so late getting in, we were offered the use of the full property the following day, as long as were checked out of our room. Michael, the owner, was VERY gracious and friendly. All of the staff we met were very helpful.
